Essence Nails and Spa

I have been going to Essence Nails for the last two years for my seasonal Mani/Pedis.Anna the owner is spectacular! She always takes great care and puts in a lot of time doing my nails. She is always listening and catering to the kind of nails I want and is honest and frank about her suggestions.The line ups are long and they are always busy - because they are exceptional. They take care and effort when doing their clients and do not rush anything.I have been to lots of other nail places but by far this is my favourite place to go and I highly recommend it!

The service was horrible. I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and I showed a reference pic since I started this place for the first time since my usual place was busy. They looked at my eyebrow reference and agreed to proceed. Let’s just say they left it thick when I wanted it thinned out. Around the eyebrow was clean (forehead, eyelids) but the eyebrow looks untouched. When asked about it, she said this is all I can do and when I said I wanted it thinner she said she won’t do it. She couldn’t even trim it much shorter like I usually do biweekly at other places. She just refused to finish the work of my eyebrow. My question is why are they saying they do eyebrows as a service if they clearly did not know how to do eyebrows. Then once it came time to payment. She took the tip for herself before I could give her tip which I did not noticing the change difference and let me go without telling me I tipped her twice. When I noticed in the car she said yeah I chose to tip twice when I didn’t even notice they took the tip in the first place, they didn’t tell me. Completely unhappy with their service and was not worth it. TOTALLY UNPROFFESSIONAL

I got a shellac pedicure and they did an excellent job. The lady who did it spent some time on my calluses, which I always appreciate. Nails were clipped and shaped perfectly and the polish was applied without flaw. I’m so happy I read the reviews and came here. I had been looking for a place I liked for a while now.

I asked for acrylic nails. She did not follow proper process. Did not clean my hands after buffing. I had to wipe all my nails myself. I asked for Matt effect but after my nails were done it did not look like the picture that I showed her. My nails were glossy. After the process was done I started having excruciating pain in all nails. I am not going back to this place again. I have attached the proof and i can show my transaction details as well. I was here twice. As you can see from the photo, what a shoddy job was done. The nails are not even aligned properly. I am not taking down this review.

Been once before my last visit and was happy but the last time I went there was a mix up with who was my 2nd guest for a pedi and they took someone else assuming it was my guest. Didn't ask for names at all. So it put everyone there with someone when my guest did arrive they made her wait an hour. Was not happy they rushed through me to get to my friend and put waayy to many coats of shellac on my toes and it was messy looking and then was to hard for my toe nail it couldn't breath and my nail lifted away from the bed in the exact place the shellac was. So now it won't reattach. I will never go back here .

I have been coming here since I moved to Whitby 4 years ago. The staff do a great job but the biggest star here is Anna, the manager, who provides incredible customer service! I have recommended many people to come here and will continue doing so.

This nail salon was so lovely. Everyone was so sweet and I’m so pleased with my nails! I mean just look at them!

Went here for the first time a few months ago and was not disappointed! Anna was so great! Her attention to detail and quality of work exceeded my expectations. I had called on a Saturday evening around 5pm to schedule an appt and she was extremely accommodating! She told me to come that evening even though they were closing soon. She took the time and patience and did such a great job! I would definitely recommend this salon!

I was treated to truly excellent service here. She actually stayed later to make sure everything was done to a most excellent standard and my opinions were sought at every step of the process. I will definitely return!Edit: I returned.

Anna does an amazing job. She takes pride in her work and take time doing a great job. I travel to Whitby just to get my nails done by her.
