As a transfer student who studied previously at a TCM school abroad, I can speak to the comprehensiveness of the rigorous curriculum, compassionate instructors, and organized administration. From well prepared teaching materials to individual academic counseling for each term to make sure you're on track, the leadership here goes above and beyond to support you and your TCM journey/goals. If you’re serious about your TCM training, TSTCM is the place to be!

My experience the past year at TSTCM has been quite enriching. I am an RMT in Hamilton and I travel weekly to Toronto in order to take courses on a part time basis. My goal is to be a fully registered Acupuncturist and I know the program TSTCM will get me there. The program is challenging and rigorous and Dr. Mary Wu is completely supportive and committed to making her students successful. I have met the most brilliant and outstanding people in my classes and share a strong connection with each one of my classmates. I'm very happy to have chosen this program above others.

I started studying here since 2017. I have completed my Acupuncture qualification exams with no problem due to the support and encouragement from the school. I am still in school for the advance program hoping to become a Dr. TCM under the British Columbia jurisdiction. The school provides tremendous support, knowledge transfer and discipline for serious learners. Not only did I learn so much about TCM concepts, diagnosis and treatments which are fundamental, but I also learned the soft skills to interact and communicate with patients all thanks to the professional set up and structure of the hands on teaching clinic. It's very rewarding to have patients specifically rebook for me so that I can be their regular wellness provider.TCM/ holistic medicine is more important than ever, to help the population to become more aware about preventative health and help them with their chronic conditions before it gets anymore serious. I know I have made the right choice in the school and the profession and cannot be happier and more excited about the future outlook. Thank you TSTCM!Additional notes: (again, personal opinions for your reference only.)- about tuition - the rate the general standard across the better known schools in the region, I don't find it outrageous, actually quite reasonable for what I got- about patient recruitment - it isn't required anymore. Although I do recruit patients sometimes to the teaching clinic because if I don't get better with that skill, how will I get my own patients in the future?- about controversy with fees, and what not. - I never had to pay additional fees/ penalties because I always submitted everything on time without troubling the school.I think overall everything is reasonable, is tuition cheap" i wouldn't say so

I’ve been practising as a TCM practitioner for nearly 20 years and I would say I have a dream career. I love what I do, I adore my clients and look forward to my work every day. Much of my success is due to the training I received at TSTCM.I’m a graduate from the second class at TSTCM - which means I started way back in 1999. Although there weren’t many schools for TCM in Toronto at that time, I knew that I was in the right place. During my time at TSTCM, I enjoyed all of my teachers - they were exceptional.I was very fortunate that TSTCM President, Mary Wu, was my instructor for many classes. She may have been tough, but I feel learning from her put me on a path for success.More importantly, something which a lot of TCM practitioners don’t realize - and they should - is how much time and effort Mary and her colleagues put into getting TCM and Acupuncture regulated in the province of Ontario. It was a hard fought process which current and future TCM grads benefit from greatly. I was lucky enough to join Mary on some of the provincial TCM regulation meetings and I started to see why she was so involved.Mary knew how important provincial regulation was to our future as TCM practitioners - to our livelihood.Insurance coverage, title protection, standards of practice, educational standards, public safety - these are just a few of the areas which had to be fought for during this process. Mary fought very hard for the TCM profession and she continues to fight just as hard for her students at TSTCM. She wants her students to be prepared for a successful career and in my opinion - TSTCM delivers. As I reflect on my TCM education all these years later, I’m grateful for the strong TCM foundation, the hands on experience I received in the student clinic and for the patience and expertise of the wonderful faculty at TSTCM.

I have been studying here at TSTCM since May 2019. As an international student (I am from the United States) I was unsure of the process of going to school in Canada and finding housing etc. Upon visiting TSTCM they gave me an in depth tour of the facilities, including a student clinic, classrooms, and free parking all on site. I was also informed of the application process, and even given advice on acquiring my visa and nearby residential areas. They even offer to let you sit in on a class prior to enrolling so you can get a feel for the school before committing.Compared to schools in the US TSTCM is a steal in terms of tuition. There are schools with no student clinic and far less personal interaction with teachers that charge more than double. TSTCM also does not charge you a higher tuition fee of being an international student, which I am always very grateful of. The course materials you pay for and receive are books I regularly use for reference today, even though I have already taken those courses. The course schedule is rigorous and sometimes overwhelming but there are always people there to support you along the way. I appreciate how seriously Mary Wu, school president, and the rest of the faculty take the learning process. Holding us to higher standards helps graduates of TSTCM excel in their post graduate exams as well as give our patients the best most effective care.TCM is something I am genuinely passionate about and it is great to be around so many others that are as well. As a student here I have not only become close with my fellow colleagues but also the faculty at TSCTM. As someone who lives just outside the city, traffic can be bad in the area during rush hours, but where isn't it in Toronto? Definitely worth the time and effort to check out TSTCM.

I have been a student at TSTCM for last 3 years who feels the school as one of the best TCM/Acupuncture institutions in this area. Reading through some reviews here made me think of scribbling something down here.Basically I am a health care professional graduated from East. I am very much used to the professional schooling system of Eastern countries. This school provided me with strong foundation in TCM and Acupuncture which made me more confident to get into the public and motivated me for Advanced studies. The highly knowledgeable and professional staff and supervisors are always ready to help with any theoretical as well as practical queries. I am well impressed with the commitment of my instructors at the school.Yes, the pace and content of the courses are intense.....as it should be. I always appreciate it and strongly believe that it is very much needed. Studying at TSTCM, I now possess a keen understanding of diagnosis and treatment using TCM techniques. I feel confident in my acupuncture technique, and have had good response and results from the patients I have treated in the clinic. With that intense type of studying, I had no worries preparing for the registration exams. I was pretty confident with both Pan Canadian examinations and hope the same with my classmates too.Another thing, I was really worried about the patient recruitment in the beginning when I started my training. But, didn't bother about it later as I got into working at CNE, other seminars and health expo. I believe that this is a challenge everyone must face and overcome in order to become successful practitioner. At these shows, we get opportunities to educate the public by answering their questions, to promote TCM, and to train ourselves by practicing TCM diagnosis and treatment modalities such as Tuina and acupuncture, also this helps to recruit clients. Students get credits for their patient recruitment for the hours they attended at the events in addition to the number of clients they recruit to the clinic. This policy actually help us establish the constant concept of client recruitment and retention for TCM and Acupuncture practice. I was not good in taking my family or friends there as I live in another city a bit far from the school, but got a vast number of recruits to fill my records from attending these shows. And I don't think anybody fail the clinic just because they don't have enough recruits. One more thing, about President Mary Wu - she is always ready to help her 'TCM babies', at school as well as with other situations like she was at the Pan Canadian examination site to support her students with a suitcase of water, juice and snacks and waited outside all through the exam, just in case if any of her babies needed help. Of course, it was very much encouraging and helpful in boosting our confidence. You know what! TSTCM graduates scored 100% pass rate in the written exam! That's the confidence she pass on to her TCM babies.I strongly recommend TSTCM to every body who is serious about their future in TCM and Acupuncture. you can do your own research to find out the facts in person than depending on the web reviews

I am a current student in TCM practitioner program. I pretty enjoy being here, the instructors are experienced in both professional knowledge and teaching. To be honest, Mary is a very strict principal but she is taking very seriously about both teaching and clinic so that the pass rate of Pan Canadian is always staying on the top and graduates are capable to treat patients independently right after they get the licences.

I am a current student in TCM practitioner program. I feel honored to be part of such a wonderful organization. TSTCM has set up a traditional Chinese medicine program aimed at providing students with advanced training, lifelong learning and help in developing professional careers so that they can in turn translate to the wider community the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine. Instructors are highly qualified and are very supportive. Especially Mary Wu the president of the school is very professional, dedicated, experienced and is very encouraging. They provide well organized lecture notes, conduct weekly tests and assignments time to time. Well maintained campus with a busy teaching clinic providing high quality clinical training. Graduates of the TSTCM is known to be well qualified to meet the demands and standards of the 21st Century practice of traditional Chinese medicine.

I started studying here in 2006, completing the advanced program in 2010. A year into my studies, my mom also applied to the school, having heard about all the things I was learning at TSTCM, graduating from the advanced program in 2011.At the time, TCM was not yet regulated in Ontario so I had to fly out to B.C., where the profession had been regulated for a number of years, in order to take the licensing exams. I flew out there several times to take the acupuncture, herbology and eventually the Dr. of TCM licensing exams. Throughout the written and practical portions of the various exams, I felt quite confident and very well prepared, having gone through the comprehensive training at TSTCM.Being one of the original TCM schools in Toronto, TSTCM has one of the most comprehensive and well-designed curriculums, and consistently trains well-rounded graduates that are well prepared for an exciting and rewarding career. If you are passionate about helping others and are considering a career in healthcare, I wholeheartedly encourage you to check out TSTCM.

I am so grateful to have chosen TSTCM for my Chinese Medicine study. I really appreciated its focus on rigorous training and intensive studying which has helped me to build up a solid foundation of TCM knowledge. Because of this, I was able to integrate theory and clinical practice well through my internship at The teaching clinic. I have been working full time while completing my acupuncture diploma program for becoming a registered acupuncturist. President Mary has always been there to encourage me and to help me whenever needed. She has very high standards and she cares about every student at TSTCM!
