Tom's Sewing Centre

Tom went above and beyond to help me with my sewing machine. I needed the needle threader repaired and couldn't get an appointment from the Husqvarna Viking dealer. Tom repaired the needle threader and also consulted with a Husqvarna Viking rep about my machine display. Due to the extra time it took to consult about the display, I wasn't able to pick up my machine the same day. I thought I would have to wait another week for my next day off, but Tom brought my machine to my home for me! Fantastic service. I will definitely go back.

This place is very very hospitable. These ladies in there are awesome. Quilt shopping in Canada vs the States is very different. These people are so helpful and willing to help with whatever I’ve needed every time I go in. I feel like I’m State side. I purchased a machine from them and have loved all my experiences going in!

I took my sewing machine here to fix because it was leaking oil. I forgot to bring the electric cord and foot paddle but the staff there just used the cables they had in the store because they sell Janome and my sewing machine was made by Janome. They looked at my machine carefully and think nothing is really wrong with it but offered to keep the machine so the owner Tom could look at it. It turns out the previous technician I hired to service the machine put too much oil in it. They didn’t charge me for this inspection which was fantastic. I feel bad for getting free service so I bought some fabric from them. Overall the service was excellent, staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly. I went there with my 5 yo daughter and she was running around (I stopped her many times but you know it’s hard with a 5 yo), staff didn’t get upset and still very friendly to us.

My singer machine started sewing weird and I gave them a call. The service time was pretty long - about 6-8 weeks but I came in with the part I thought was acting strange. They didn’t want to sell me a new one as they said it was perfectly fine - but showed me how to tune it. I really appreciate the fact that they could sell me that but didn’t! And the lady in the shop was right, I followed her instructions and it solved it! Super professional shop, from what I saw they also had a really good selection and prices. Would definitely work with them again in the future

Brick and Mortar stores need to really shine, to prevent themselves from falling victim to Amazon. I needed a bobbin case, and found it on Amazon, but it was going to take 3 weeks to arrive. I knew a real store would sell it for double the price, but I wanted it today. So I called this morning at 10:15, knowing they were open at 9:30. There was no answer, which seemed very odd. Good customer service includes answering every call, even if you place them on hold temporarily. Confused and wondering if they were even open, I left a voicemail. When no one called back 10 minutes later, I tried calling again. The woman who answered was curt (rude), and said she 'hadn't had time to talk to her parts person yet

Love this store and their staff! I have found them all to be kind, helpful and friendly. I bought my Janome Embroidery Machine from them last year and I love it so much! Such an amazing machine and a really good price. The value for my money was excellent. A year later I'm still very happy with it.

The staff are very knowledgeable and were very helpful when I went to purchase a birthday gift. In my excitement and being from the U.K.,I am unaccustomed to taxes not being included in the prices so I unfortunately realised later,that I had gone over my allocated budget.I requested to swap it for a cheaper model and get a gift certificate for the rest of the amount intending to purchase more items from this shop at a later date.I was informed that I can only upgrade. Exchange/credit note/gift certificate etc. are not available options.I was saddened by the very limited exchange policy.I had intentionally sought out a local business rather than shopping online from places like Amazon as I choose to support local businesses where possible.I would recommend this shop for the expertise and products it offers but would also recommend that customers are aware of the refund/exchange policy before making any big purchases to avoid any disappointment and stress.

These people are fantastic - really kind, prompt customer service. They also have (or have access to) a comprehensive supply of rare / hard-to-find sewing machine parts. Their fabric supply is all 100% cotton, quilting and craft-oriented fabric, they have a good selection, and the showroom is meticulously organized by colour (quilter's dream).They readily had in stock the part I needed at a price that was unexpectedly low. I would highly recommend this store to any quilter or sewing enthusiast in need of parts or repairs.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Picked up some wide back flannel on sale. A little disorganized as they are rearranging. Great selection of quilting cottons. Prices comparable to other fabric stores. Kits on higher end of price scale.

Brought the machine to fix on 10/15/23, being forgotten for five months. No UPDATE CALL. i was patient. I called in on 3/1/23 at 9:30 am.They had no clue where my machine was, at all. Waited the call back patiently 6 hours.Again, I was waiting.Finally I was waiting for the answer, they said “the machine parts are missing to fix and now we’re ordering. Have no clue when the part will arrive. “ I was patient till then.I assume this “tom’s sewing “were forgetting and CANNOT MANAGE TO TRACK OF THE CUSTOMERS ORDER like Normal business people can do, to check up on my machine otherwise the time WOULD NOT have passed this much, it goes without saying, obviously.Only if they gave me approx waiting time with an APOLOGY, I wouldn’t have given this feed back.Instead the lady on the phone didn’t apologize nor gave me the attitude to help me figuring out.She just said “ i don’t know how long it takes” is it the attitude to who is waiting for five months?I don’t think so. what if it was you who were waiting. I waited five months without any complain.I was and I am very upset with this customer service and such an disappointing experience and so SAD the fact that this brunch is the part of the singer.THIS PLACE DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO OFFER !It is the shame that I had to deal with this place just because there’s no alternative.I wouldn’t have used your place, it is very inconvenient location too.Far from downtown, store is boring too.I am going to report to the singer’s HR. what a shame.At least, why don’t you APPRECIATE this honest review MR TOM?! Huh
