Granville Island Hotel
I hate to provide this negative review. Granville Island is quintessentially Vancouver. I have art hanging on my walls from artists who’s studios are there. I shop at the Market. Sandbar is one of my favourite restaurants. I’ve attended Charity fun raising dinners at their restaurant. I was the catalyst for a renovation of the Arts Club theatre on the island. When we recently sold our Vancouver home we wondered where we should stay for what are planned frequent trips bank. Granville Island hotel seemed to be the logical choice. We have since stayed twice - but today I am canceling my reservation for this coming week.I won’t go into all the details. Let me share one detail; don’t stay in room 225 - if there is someone who snores in the next room! But here is the final straw - after a particularly odd experience with the restaurant I spoke to one of the Manager’s (Mr. Moloo). He was very understanding and apologetic. Asked me to outline in detail in an email. Which I did. No reply.Well last week the same issue with the restaurant happened again - so as I was checking out the next morning I left a message with the front desk to have him call me. Which he didn’t. Again I won’t go into details but the experience at the restaurant was very troubling - but failure of Management is unacceptable. Please - if visiting Vancouver- go to Granville Island. But please, I don’t want this hotel to spoil your impression.UPDATE: a few hours after I posted this review the hotel started to try to contact me. I posted the review days after I checked out and left a message with the front desk and sent a follow up email to call me. I’ll leave it to you to discern the value placed of a request to call vs a negative review. I was offered a free room during the slow season. I appreciate the offer, and may consider it once October finally comes around.

My Room was 29 degrees C. (85F) and the air conditioner didn't work. I believe the gentleman's name was AJ took care of us and got us moved quickly to another room that was much more comfortable. Thank-you so much!

I love this location. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food is good. Dog friendly. The walking potential along the sea wall makes this place perfection. Easy parking, too. Comfortable. They have it all here

Considering this hotel is in the city, it was really quiet at night! A huge bonus: you can open the windows fully, not just crack them an inch. A noon checkout! Fabulous!! Super location. Expensive, but what nice hotel isn’t?

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Granville Island Hotel, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The hotel is located right on Granville Island with lots of amenities, art galleries, theatres, entertainment and shops all within walking distance, making it a perfect mini holiday. Our room was outstanding with stunning views of the harbor and city skyline - truly breathtaking! The on-site Dockside Restaurant was fantastic, serving delicious food and beverages with great service. We also appreciated the excellent customer service provided by the hotel staff. In particular, we want to express my gratitude to the Manager, Asif Moloo, who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect.Overall, we had an amazing time at Granville Island Hotel, and we cannot wait to return soon. If you are looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay with great views and excellent customer service, then I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you again to everyone at the Granville Island Hotel, for making our stay such a memorable one!

If you bring your kids, a dog or both, this is the place to be!We came for business at the Vancouver General Hospital, only a 20 minute seaside walk away.I've stayed in downtown Vancouver many times with all the noise and bustle, and lack of greenspace. No such thing here. So convenient with Kitslano and its dog beach only 2 km away, walking oceanside to literally everywhere.Charleson Dog Park is also nearby with an Oceanview! Beautiful grassy areas with lit pathways right out the hotel doors , also a playground for the kids. The hotel staff and restaurant servers were attentive and very approachable. Rooms were well appointed, comfy beds and had a view of the ocean. There was a nice business center on our floor, also a bonus if you're working away from home.Parking was a breeze with surface self parking at 20 bucks a day. Access to the other side of Vancouver across the creek is easy with the shuttles and aquabuses everywhere. Want to paddleboard, kayak, sail, or rent a boat or go whale watching? It's all here. Bring your bike or use bikeshare to ride the amazing seawall that connects Kitsilano , Granville to Stanley Park and beyond. This is the only place we will stay at for future trips. What a gem!

We stayed here on very short notice after our flight was cancelled due to the snowstorm. Not many rooms were available anywhere near the airport but the staff gave us a good rate on the last available room here (the penthouse), which was amazing. Huge and comfortable. The fireplace was really nice and the jacuzzi (plus some meds) saved me from a bad headache. I've always thought bathtubs in the bedroom of a hotel are weird but here I was very glad to have it. Trying to find a way home, we stayed a second night and the staff were very helpful quickly getting us into a new room. While still very nice, the heating (combined with 2 walls being almost all windows) struggled to keep up with the winter weather.
