JRS Engineering Ltd is one of the best Envelope Consultants in the Greater Vancouver area. I am working with JRS on several jobs in and around Vancouver and can only highly recommend them. Their staff is well trained. If required they will go above and beyond to make the building air and water tight to follow canadian standards. This is not always easy in this wet Vancouver climate! Onsite JRS is reviewing the window wall installation and make sure the trade is installing as per shop drawings reviewed by the Architect and the Envelope consultants . Following the field reviews JRS is conducting several window tests to assure the water and air tightness of the building and to check for any installation failures. In addition to field visits JRS is reviewing details and specifications in regards to the building envelope before they will be issued for construction, helping out to create the best detail and also helping to revise details as per site conditions. I highly recommend JRS!

As a general contractor, I have personally worked with JRS Engineering for over 27 years in the waterproofing and exterior building maintenance field. I hold the company and many of its representatives in high regard because of there ability to discuss solutions with the contractor to provide a positive and cost effective outcome for the owners. UPDATE 2: The report has finally been completed, and when the ownership met the engineers in charge of the project, everyone agreed that they are very competent and excellent communicators. It's regrettable they were so unable to communicate while the project was repeatedly delayed. With construction costs going up all the time in Vancouver, a project delayed by several years becomes substantially more costly when it is eventually started. Each owner in our strata will basically have to spend $3000-5000 extra just because of the 2-3 year delay in the overall project caused by JRS in their poor handling of the preparatory phase.UPDATE 1: It's been now 3 years since the report was commissioned. Still nothing.INITIAL REVIEW: It is not entirely clear how legit this business is: it looks like they overbook themselves all across the lower mainland and then string along their customers for as long as possible without doing any actual work. Our strata contracted them over 2 years ago to write a report on the possible replacement of the windows in our complex. They're getting paid over $50k for this work". The report is well over a year late
