Samar Kabab House
If you want Afghan cuisine in Ottawa, this is it. Great staff, prompt service, presentable interior and best of all, very delicious food and a range of platter options. Lastly…. Lots of parking available too. I highly recommend Samar, get a taste of authentic Afghan food.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant with great and friendly service. The food was out of this world! Lots of room for families and large groups, very clean and spacious dining room. Highly recommend paying a visit.

Amazing place, amazing owners, and amazing food. The lady at the front handles everything and she does an excellent job doing so. She was super sweet towards my group and I and would continuously ask if everything was okay and if we needed anything. She even went as far as to offer us extra food for free as it is Ramadan and some of us were fasting all day. Any negative reviews in the last month are not an accurate representation of this place as the staff is mostly fasting and still working hard to ensure that everybody gets their food on time and have a good experience.

The food was absolutely amazing, however the service was really bad. Servers were not responsive, did not even bother to fill water for us etc. We asked if they could clear the table to have desert, server said ask the other one" and took at least 15 minutes to do that. And it took over 30 minutes to get us ice cream and pudding (which was terrible)... And we reminded them couple times

A nice, spacious and cozy place to dine in! I liked their Kabobs, it was juicy and tender, not over spiced! Waiting time was good, the portion was generous and staff were friendly!

I visited Samar Kabab House during my trip to Ottawa. It’s in a good location with free parking (which is not usually the case with lots of restaurants in the area). The ambiance was pleasant but it was almost empty when we went there around 1pm. 2 other families that’s it. Tables were too high for one to eat comfortably. I think the place would benefit from new tables and more social media presence.The food took a long time to arrive about a 45 min wait. The server was very kind though and she made sure we were comfortable. The food itself was decent. I enjoyed the grilled chicken and kebabs the most. The salad was clearly made fresh and was clean. It lacked depth and seasoning but it was not bad. Average.Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The food was ok but the service was best. Need more kitchen staff to reduce food wait times and new tables !

Samar Kabab House
I went to Samar Kabab for the first-time few days ago. I was very happy with the quality of food. I took a mixed platter with Kebab, Chicken and Meat. They were all good. I personally did not like their rice. However, Salad and fried were good. The service was great. There was one Waitress servicing the whole place on a Monday evening which is understandable, and she was doing a great job. Thank you and I will go back again.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I look forward to eating here again in the near future. They were able to accommodate our party of 8 without any issues.
