Routes Car Rental

They charged my credit card and insurance company both.They simply deducted money from my card and sent email. Not a phone call to discuss. My insurance company explained them then Routes sent me email for apologizing and mentioned will return money to card.They have not returned my money back. There is no number to call them as there phone is just a robot talking about address and hours. Tried to call couple of people not picking up at all.Once one of them called me and said we can't refund back to your credit card so will issue cheque. No cheque yet. No information to pick up cheque yet.So DIFFICULT to work out with this company. Don't have a freaking person to talk to.

Routes has been great every time we have used them. Quick, efficient and a very good cost! Harry helped us in a very polite and professional manner. He is exactly what a company should look for in an employee! We will definitely be coming back!!

I went to Routes in Toronto for the very first time for my birthday trip. The airport staff was friendly showing us how to get to the off airport pick up location. We found it, and the shuttle driver picked us up swiftly and took us to the office to retrieve the rental car. We then saw smiling faces that greeted us upon arrival. The agent Mr. Sharma was very helpful and process us immediately and the rental was great! Thank you for making my birthday trip a pleasure!!

Do NOT rent a vehicle from this disgusting company. They gave me a car with bad brakes and rotors. It was embarrassing driving around in it. When I arrived at Routes in Orlando to receive my car I gave them my insurance information because I’m covered for rental damage. A few minutes into the drive I caught a rock to the windshield and it cracked. I tried to call them but they don’t answer the phone…Ever. I returned the vehicle and showed them the window. They said it was fine and they would contact the insurance company and submit the claim. Instead they just charged my credit card. Over $820. I tried to call to get a receipt but again they don’t answer the phone. There billing department doesn’t have a number and doesn’t respond to emails.

The service is okay, staff can be rude and harsh. The car we got wasn’t washed and was dirty inside. They could have done a better job.

When we went to pick up our car they could not find our keys and then said the battery died.They took and parked our car, the battery was fine. We stored it and paid for 14 days, then this upon pickup.They were completely flippant about our dead batter and our bad experience, they were on their cell phones, and they were laughing the whole time while we waited.Our car battery died again over an hour later when we stopped to get gas. Some very nice people helped by calling CAA for us, since our phones were dead at that time.CAA arrived hastily and helped charge us for the rest of our four hour trip home. The next day we had to buy a new battery.

Worst car rental to book with !I’ve booked with them on Jan 1st and when I got there, they’re charging $1500 security deposit which was indeed way too much ! Where as other car rentals charges $250 to $300 .. I cancelled my booking within an hour of my reservation and now they’re charging me cancellation.. I sent out emails trying to get my refund and explained everything to them … the representative emailed me stating “ it’s their policy”.. I’ve worked in a car rental before & not just a car rental .. other places as a receptionist .. & for customers who has booked the same day and cancelled .. they have the right to have their amount refunded ! Because where is a 24hour window in a same day booking? Unbelievable with this company ! Telling me it’s their policy and customers has the right to not be charged within 24hour . So you’re telling me because I booked the same day and cancelled because the security dep was way to high, I don’t have a right to get my refund as an exception ? Unbelievable & unprofessional… I would rather book through ECONOMY ! Their deposit is way less and customer service skills are incredible ! Jasmine was the name of the person handling this ! She’s definitely not recommended to deal with !

FYI, the overall environment is very good, pretty official. Since this is the first time my parents come to Toronto, this car rental company exactly helps a lot. There is no any implicit fee, and also the car is brand new car with only 643km. So if you are considering which one you need to choose for making you to have a better trip, this company will be the best choice. Oh yeah, reminder, their service is phenomenal, really kind and will be very happy to solve your questions. My father said if he comes to Toronto in the future, he will still come this car rental to rent a car!
