Juniper Food + Wine
We made last minute reservation on a Saturday and they only had outside tables. Service and food was amazing. Drinks are on the strong side, still delicious. Oysters were fresh and served with horseradish, mignonette and lemon. We got the tempura fiddleheads, carpaccio, burrata, and the strip loin. Everything was well seasoned and cooked just right. The carpaccio was especially noteworthy, with its shaved foie gras toppings. Definitely worth a visit if you're wanting a break from all the fried seafood and lobster rolls. We're from Montreal so have tasted our fair share of French restaurant. This was up there in the good ones.

A considered dinner experience ready to continue pushing Wolfville forward. We sat on their intimate patio right on Main Street, which in the evening had quieted down considerably. We had the marinated olives, baked potato beignets, and hodgepodge, all as sharing plates, finishing with the creme caramel with poached rhubarb. Each were well portioned and delicious - the hodgepodge especially was rich and fresh in all the right ways. We drank a glass of their L’Acadie Vineyards sparkling, which was disappointingly the only local wine available by the glass. The menu was also less vegetable-forward than would have been expected when surrounded by such bountiful produce. It would have been difficult for a vegetarian to enjoy this menu. These would be my only two areas for improvement - the service was lovely, attentive but not doting. Will return.

Showed up for an early dinner (5pm) at Juniper. I did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate me in a small nook counter table. I had oysters (delish), the steak (ok), a dessert with 2 glasses of wine. The dessert, a sweetcorn crème brulée was a stand out for me. It was excellently delicious! My bill quickly appeared as I was done with dessert, I am going to assume they needed my table. Overall the food was good, the ambience was ok as I did not feel particular warmth from the overall experience.

The wife and I are enjoying our first date night in a very very long time. We were going to go someplace around the area because we live locally. I found this place doing a Google Search and the pictures that the other customers uploaded looked very delicious.We decided to give it a try and let me tell you, it was absolutely phenomenal. Both my wife and I very much enjoyed our menu options. She had the daily special which was a pork chop and I had the steak. The steak was cooked to Perfection it was probably one of the best steaks that I've had in my entire life.The price point was comparable to other eateries that we've been to both locally and around the province. I would definitely highly recommend this place. The only downside was they when we arrived we're not very busy but moments after we sat down more people piled in and service was a little on the slow side. It did take us a while to get our main dishes. Although the ambience of the establishment would kind of have the two of us sitting there conversing more and having a glass of wine but because I'm driving and she didn't feel like it we didn't have that experience.The only thing my wife really didn't like so much was the amount of attention that we had at the table. My wife is one of those people who likes to have things put down and then have people kind of stay away so she can enjoy her food. It didn't bother me so much but to her it was a little uncomfortable. Other than that the experience was great and the kids saw the pictures of some of the burgers and sandwiches that they make so they want to go there someday during the week when school is over and have those enormous burgers

In the Google system, most 5 star ratings don’t really mean 5/5. Juniper really is a 5 star restaurant. The dishes are perfectly curated. From the delicious focaccia with flavoured butter to the golden textured Patatas Bravas to the expertly dressed tuna tartare with the most delicious turnip we’ve ever tasted. Everything was spot on. What could be so special about a fried chicken sandwich? The brioche bun had spring to it. The chicken as high quality as you can find. We didn’t leave enough room for other mains but for dessert the cream puffs impressed us with their texture. The crème brûlée (not pictured) was well textbook with a delicious bit of white chocolate whipped cream and rhubarb jam.The ambience itself was very nice and the style of the venue was obvious. Our host was responsive. Tasteful folk music played to set the mood of the Valley.It’s funny. Sometimes you go to a restaurant with very high expectations and your left disappointed. We knew nothing of Juniper and the only thing that we could accuse it of is being too perfect.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to leave a review here. Juniper is the type of restaurant I dream about. Cozy, welcoming, curated drink and wine lists, spectacular hospitality and most importantly some of the best food Nova Scotia has on offer. Chef Hopgood’s menu is inspired, and with an attention to detail rarely matched. I have eaten at Juniper at least a dozen times and can confidently say that I have never had an experience less than 5 stars. If I could give 10, I would.

We went to Juniper for the first time for my wife's birthday dinner out Service was outstanding in small venue .We started with arancini very good , could use a marinara ,steak frites that was absolutly delicious , decadent and perfectly executed . followed by an amazing cream puff desert .An absolutely wonderful dinner out that we highly recommend ..

Love it here. Amazing food without being pretentious! Had oysters, Fish Sando and a burger wars burger. Tried their signature cocktail. It was delightful!
