Northern Basement Systems

My initial experience with northern basement systems was fine.Responsive and adapted to my schedule to look at my project.  After some research on youtube, etc. the cost they were proposing to do the project was just way too high for a system that’s duct taped together.Unfortunately, intentionally or not, I felt pressured by their salesman to sign up right away and get a “5% discount”.I’m not a fan of high pressure salesman and for a project of this size snd cost, a 5% discount was not nearly sufficient to sway my decision at all.

This winter I had a drainage system installed, along with sump pump and dehumidifier, and flooring and walls to re-finish basement space. Hunter and his crew were respectful and communicative throughout the multi-day project. Their work gave me great peace of mind before spring rains came.

I had cracks and a bow in my foundation wall. I also had water that was coming into the basement from the walls and the floor. I called northern basement systems and they came out in a timely manner. I was very worried about the foundation wall they talked me though everything and gave me all the information. This really helped with my worries. I hired them to reinforce my foundation and put in a drainage system. There was a snow storm on one of the days that delayed the work crew. They talk to me the day before and let me know the strom may delay them the next day and they would call me and keep me informed. I got a call in the morning letting me know there would be a delay but they were on there way because of the delay it took them an extra day. They came out and finish the work. The basement looked better then before they came out. They walked me through the work multiple time though the process. At the end of the work they walked me through it again. They talked me though how everything works. I highly recommend this company. I am extremely impressed with the hole process and everyone I worked with. The price the quoted me was the price I was charged even with the extra time it took them.

We called Northern Basement in need of a rapid estimate for a property we were considering. Peter arrived and provided us a very detailed evaluation, estimate, and walkthrough. We ended up terminating the deal, but we can not recommend Northern Basement enough. We wish all people conducted business the way Northern Basement operates. We hope to never need them, but if we need foundation work - these are the people to go to in the Vermont/New Hampshire region.

NBS's foreman, Hunter, just left with his crew after finalizing the paperwork. I have to say that I am very impressed with the amount of work that he and his crew accomplished in the short amount of time here on site. Hunter was very professional, patient, and took time to answer all of my questions. He spoke with me about the slight adjustments he made after reviewing the site and went through the logic behind the suggested changes. I went under the house with him after the job was completed & was not only impressed but exceptionally satisfied with the work done. I've been meaning for this project to be completed for a long time and I can't imagine a better outcome. I will be recommending NBS to anyone who needs foundation work done. I'd rate Hunter and his crew at 12/10.

We had a sump pump and perimeter drainage system installed in our basement earlier this year. The price was fair and the work was done in one day. It was done in early July, just in time for the record wet month we had. Prior to that, the basement had standing water after every rain storm, and (from what we heard from neighbors) a LOT more water after big snow years. I think we had this installed just in time to save all of the stuff we have stored downstairs, and the system is working 100%. Very happy with the system they installed and our interactions with salespeople and workers were all positive.

Do we have a dry basement? Yes. Do I feel like we got pressured into buying into a more expensive solution than we needed? Yes. Is the system held together with duct tape? Yes.While I would not sway anyone away from getting an estimate from NE basement systems or going with one of their systems, I would say this: be wary of their aggressive sales tactics and ask as many questions as possible. It is a hefty investment in time and money to have them dig their perimeter trench system in your basement and it *might* not be what you need. The salesman or system designs specialist" was quite pushy and rather than leaving us feeling confident with his recommendations

Very professional. Kept me in the loop every step of the way. Confirmed my appointment by email, then by phone and then the man coming called to tell me he'd be a little late and it was only like 5 minutes. Very knowledgeable. Didn't try to sell me on anything. Told me what my problem was and how easily I can fix it myself. Can't recommend them highly enough!

We had them come out to inspect our foundation and crawlspace. Kevin was excellent, answered all of our questions and explained a lot about the foundation and how we should proceed. We didn't end up needing any work done, which was great news to us. But even after Kevin knew they wouldn't be getting a job out of the meeting he still took all the time we needed. We were very impressed and would certainly recommend the company.
