I highly recommend Dr Henderson when the time comes to put your beloved fur baby to rest. My precious Oliver was very sick and having Dr Henderson come to the house made this difficult time much easy. She made Oliver quite comfortable and relaxed. No stress. She was, kind, patient, respected our wishes and made the whole experience, as sad as it was, much more tolerable. I can’t say enough about the excellent care given. My sincere thanks to her and her team

My family would like to thank Dr. Henderson and Antonietta for giving us the ability to have our beloved dog Quinn cross the rainbow bridge peacefully at home. I’m certain it made all the difference to him being in a familiar environment instead of stressed and scared in a clinic. I am so glad we were able to give him this dignity and comfort at the end of his life. The staff were so kind and empathetic and had a great bedside manner. We really appreciated the time (about an hour) they spent with us before the procedure, learning about him and his health history and bonding with him as well as making sure we were all as comfortable with the situation as possible. We did not feel rushed at any time. They also mentioned we can call anytime if we need to talk while grieving. You can tell they truly care about their clients and patients. The service that they provide is invaluable and certainly eased our minds and his passing. Pricing was more than reasonable for the service provided. I would highly recommend their services to anyone and would absolutely use them again in the future, not just for euthanasia but also for other medical services they provide. Thanks again!

Simply put, amazing.Dr. Henderson and her team helped us through the toughest decision to set our two sibling greyhounds free at the end of November. The care and attention the entire staff has shown us has been incredible. Our boys were seniors, and full of love…. I know they felt how much they were loved. We would highly recommend them to anyone in their area that requires a vet for routine visits, as well as the ‘big stuff’.If we ever travel down the road of pet ownership again, we already know our vet.We can’t say enough good things….

Empathy, love, care, sweetness, understanding, professionalism, knowledge, reliability. What more can I say...I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat Blaze 3 weeks ago and I am glad I chose this service to guide me through the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life.

We were faced with the difficult decision of putting our beloved family member, Aesop, to sleep after her heart and kidneys started to fail. Dr. Janet Henderson and her assistant, Catherine, were absolutely wonderful. They explained everything carefully, took the time to answer all of my questions, and showed genuine compassion. I felt very supported throughout the entire process. More importantly, they made my little Roo feel at ease. They took the time to bond with her beforehand, and even though she was not feeling well, she gave them big smiles and felt very comfortable. They made a heartbreaking and painful moment feel peaceful and beautiful. It was so important to me to make sure my pup wasn't scared at the end; she was at home, in her favourite spot and she felt safe and loved. I will be forever grateful. Thank you! I cannot recommend their services strongly enough!

The vets at CV Vets are some of the most compassionate and warm-hearted doctors. We have used them for years on all our pets and they have been there for us through thick and thin. They are gentle with animals, they listen to their needs, and listen to the concerns of pet parent because they understand how much our animals mean to us. Not only are they great people but they are amazing doctors who treat animals with the same respect we would hope to be treated with. I couldn't be happier with them and neither could my fur-baby, Lilah!

Dr Henderson and her team were simply the best. It is the hardest thing in the world to do but they made it bearable. Far more than just vets, they are part grief counselors, part therapists etc :). Cash was our best friend and he went out with all his dignity and no pain. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Dr. Knoll and RVT Meaghan have been out to see my cat twice. My cat is very anxious and they are SO kind, patient and caring towards her. The service and care is incredible, and I cannot recommend them enough. I am incredibly disappointed to hear CVVH will not be serving my area anymore. I am very sorry to lose the comfort that came from knowing I had them to help me care for my aging cat.

Sadly, in the heart of Covid's , we had to help our wonderful Fiona pass as her cancer became too much for her. My last dog also went to this damn disease. While she was in pain, I had to get her in the car, take her to the vet, walk her in from the parking lot (all on a cold, drizzly late fall day), and get her settled in a sterile environment before she could go peacefully.I decided long ago that Fiona would instead go in the happiest of ways for her: in her home, in front of the fire, with her favourite stuffies and people around her. But I did not think I would find anyone who could/would be able to help us do this during the pandemic. I found a handful of vets who offer in-home euthanasia and emailed all of them. A couple understandably said they were closed during the covid scare. A few never answered. Of the few who did reply, Dr. Janet Henderson's email stood out immediately. She didn't know us, we hadn't agreed to anything at all, and here was this long email that answered my questions in detail. In particular, I was interested in perhaps using another cremation service other than Gateway. She made calls to the other business, to see if they would be able to offer what we wanted (again, hadn't even agreed to use her services yet) and got back to me promptly. So of course I agreed that Dr. Henderson and her team were right for us. Over the next couple days, we exchanged emails and Dr. Henderson spent a long time on the phone with us. On the prescribed date and time, she and her tech (I feel bad I'm not sure if that was Lorena or Antonetta or Catherine but she was great as well) arrived right on time. They were so very kind and patient in every way throughout the entire time they were here. They got things set and treated Fiona with warmth, kindness, compassion and dignity. They waited around the corner by the front door while we took time with our girl and when we were ready, they came and helped her pass peacefully, just the way we wanted. They again gave us space and all the time we needed before taking her for aftercare as respectfully as they possibly could with a hundred pounds of solid bullmastiff weight. The office followed up with a couple emails to check on us. They sent a card. And it wasn't some kind of cheesy 'form letter' or 'formulaic' card. It noted specifics about my dog and how my daughter had painted Fiona's nails for her last day with us. They provided resources for assistance with grieving in case we needed it.I can't say enough good things here. I'm truly so glad that we found Dr. Janet and her team. I have worked with a lot of vets. Most of them were good, a couple have been great. Dr. Janet and Caledon-Vaughan were just fantastic though. I know when a vet has the knowledge and skills. Talking meds and palliative care with Dr. Janet over the phone easily showed that she had that part nailed. I also have met many vets who could perhaps develop a bit more in terms of bedside manner, especially when a pet is at their end, and in pain. Caledon-Vaughan impressed more than any other vet team we've worked with. In every phone call and email, everyone was patient, understanding, kind and compassionate at a time when honestly, I was a total wreck. They didn't need a reminder of who my dog was, who we were or what Fiona's situation was. As a business, it seems to me that they've really tried to design everything to bring a new level of dignity and compassion to palliative pet care. They also seem to be led and staffed by professionals who really and truly want to help pets pass in a way that matches the love and devotion they give us while they are here. Unfortunately, even some of the well-intentioned vets' 'end of life' services are just too clinical for us. Everything here, with Dr. Henderson and Caledon-Vaughan was perfect. I really can't think of anything that Fiona would be upset with. Well except that catheter line...she didn't like that. But even in immense cancer pain, she loved Dr. Janet and Tech. Pricing was more than fair. 7 Stars. Yes, 7.
