Clearly marked entrance and well maintained path with sign posts to the lake. Impressive to walk through five ecosystems in a quick one hour walk to the end and back.

Love the walk. Dog loves the lake. Was there yesterday, was a black bear off to the far side of lake, it saw and heard us started heading our way, so the swim was short lived.Be prepared incase bear siting. Will do again.

Trail is well maintained and has a nice variety of boardwalk, gravel, and shady trees to walk under. The trail is about 1.7km to get to the lake at the end that has a picnic table. Overall about 3km and 50 minutes to walk. It's a pretty easy trail but I'd recommend hiking shoes for some muddy areas, and watch out for some tree roots sticking out.It would be nice of the trail looped around as it's just a straight line there and you'll be taking the same path back.

First time there was today. I was looking forward to the hike but apon parking, which there is no parking lot. There is enough space on the side of the road for some vehicles to park. About 15 ft from the gate entrance a big black bear ran out to the other side of the road, which was to close for comfort lol. Seeing I was also with my 2 year old daughter. Great nature reserve, I will definitely attempt another walk there just not at 618pm. So definitely be bear aware for how secluded in the country it is. I only gave 3 stars due to not making it on the hike but that was from seeing a bear. I will update review after visiting again.

Hundreds of deer flies met us at the gate and tormented us the whole way. We jumped in the Lake to get away from them where we were greeted by voracious leeches. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a challenge.

This is a beautiful, quiet trail that takes you through field, forest and wetlands. It takes you along well maintained boardwalks to a view of Mud Lake. It can be a bit slippery and muddy in the fall when there has been recent rainfall. There are no washrooms and parking is available only on the roadway.

Really well kept and great place for a picnic at the end of the trail. My dog absolutely loved it, especially being able to go out into the lake at the end of the trail.
