Beautiful fabrics in a beautiful spot. Darrell is one of the kindest, most helpful people I’ve met, and he has helped guide me as a new sewer. The designer fabrics, the buttons and the sewing notions are all top quality. I always feel like I’m leaving a friend’s house after a visit to Darrell Thomas Textiles.

My experience with Darrell and team was incredibly positive. They have a passion for their craft, are overwhelming enthusiastic and provide goods and services of superior quality, value and warmth. Darrell was able to understand my project's needs, provided valuable and thorough alternatives and delivered a product that completely met my needs. Would I go to him again? What a treasure! I loved stopping in at Darrell Thomas Textiles, the quality of fabric was luxurious,, the selection stunning, and the overall vibe super welcoming. I have just moved from Australia and had heard of DTT and finally got to stop in and see it for myself. Honestly, this is one of the best stores in the Ottawa area. Top notch service and knowledge, they will answer all your questions. The store also has the BEST button collection in Ottawa. The store also raises money for so many community causes.

Great fabric shop! Way cheaper & higher quality than Fabricland and he has a few excellent sewing machines & sergers for sale plus some of his clothes. Highly recommend!

I traveled from Midland, ON to visit Darrell's store. I am a wedding officiant and was on the lookout for the perfect fabric to make a shawl/jacket for my work. My friend and artist from Perth recommended Darrell and said he would set me up! And he did! He warmly greeted me when I walked into the store and answered all of my questions. He told me to make myself feel at home as a pulled out swatches of fabrics and colours. Also, his store is beautiful, complete with a gorgeous dressing room filled with natural light and full length mirrors where I was really able to do some colour matching with my skin tone. In the end, I left with the perfect product for what I need! It was totally worth the trip to Almonte! Would highly recommend the experience!

We happened upon this shop while passing through the village of Almonte. All I needed were a few spools of thread. The quality of the fabrics so professionally displayed speaks to a highly curated shop with a keen eye for design and display. Did I mention the buttons display (see pics) ….oh my goodness, I went back just to see the variety of buttons all over again. I felt giddy just rummaging through these magical boxes all so unique and beautifully displayed.If you’re looking for soft silks, cashmere or precious cottons, look no further than Darrell Thomas Textiles. I bought a lovely Versace scarf that my sisters wanted to “borrow” and I receive complements each time i wear it. It’s a fashion statement all on its own. Thank you, Darrell, for the incredible deal on this delicate piece.Darrell is also an ambassador of sorts paying homage to this lovely town….suggestions as to where to eat and making reservations for dinner for us….such incredible service!
