Transcontinental Moving & Storage

After 24 years of living in San Francisco, we made the move to Montreal. Moving isn't something that anyone looks forward to, but having the expertise of Andy Cohen and choosing Transcontinental made it the best experience it could be. From our initial contact with Andy Cohen, who checked in with us often and ensured that everything went smoothly, to the moving truck driver, and the movers in both cities, we have nothing but good things to say about our move with Transcontinental. We chose to pack our own boxes, so, we spent a long time getting ready for the move. The crews in both the US and Canada were excellent and everything was loaded and unloaded efficiently and carefully. Transcontinental and Andy were incredibly flexible with us while we decided whether to store our items (we moved right at Christmas time) or off-load some into a storage unit and some into our house. We ultimately chose the latter and Transcontinental went above and beyond. They managed to get a full-sized semi-truck to our storage unit, off loaded everything that was to go there quickly and then drove back to their facility, swapped trucks, and brought the rest of our items to our new home. Despite the complications that we caused, everything arrived in at our home in Montreal in perfect condition.The following morning, they even found and delivered an item that was inadvertently left behind!Everyone we dealt with was helpful, positive and professional. We highly recommend Transcontinental Moving and Storage. While we hope to never move again, if we did, we most definitely would call Andy and Transcontinental!

I found Transcontinental Moving via a Google search while looking for a company for a house move from Virginia to Alberta. The quote received was the lowest I got from the three moving companies I reached out to. I spoke with Andy and he explained how they were able to keep the cost low while not reducing the quality of service.The experience from beginning to end was great. It was easy to get in touch with the office and all movers we interacted with were kind and courteous. All of our belongings arrived intact. I would definitely recommend this company for moving.

I contacted a few moving companies and Transcontinental had one of the best quotes and had flexibility on their schedule. Andy was my point of contact. He was always super quick to reply any questions I had and the estimate they gave us was pretty accurate, including the weight of our stuff.It was a fantastic experience all the way through receiving our stuff! The movers were super polite and helpful and everything arrived intact! I would definitely use their services again!

nightmare if you start hiring them.we move from Toronto to Boston, the sales person giving supper good price, that's how I got trap!once they pick up the item, wait until passed to the border, that is how they start to asking more and more money... and all the future in them hands, then, you do not have much choose,.... Nightmare start unstill you paid the full payment!

So not only they charge extra, denied to do any furniture assembly and disassembly, although it was on the quote. They damaged multiple furniture and we bought insurance. When I called them the initial response was they will review and let me know in a week. I called after 3 weeks and the guy (Levent) told me that if I do not take out the review they will not return my money. The company is really scam. Do NOT USE THEM

We moved from BC to ON and had 2 separate deliveries. We were told charges will billed by weight which we signed and agreed. The day of moving,3rd party movers who is tired by Transcontinental came and repacked all our boxes claiming they need to be in bigger boxes so there are less pieces hence things wont go missing. When they loaded everything in the truck we got a bill for materials and labour fees for repacking everything that we had already done. They claim to be Transcontinental so I paid thinking I can have that adjusted with Andy who’s our main contact. When I called Andy he said the money did not go to Transcontinental and nothing they can do. They gave me a $100 credit afterwards when I overpaid close to $1400 scammed by those movers. Our belongings arrive on time, however they messed up our 2 separate delivers and tried to load off both shipment to one address. Andy claimed he was never told and charged us an extra $100. I provided in writing of his response saying 2 delivery is not a problem so he said it was an oversight on his part but he still needs to charge us the extra fee. Andy and this company is very dishonest and tries to put blames on others. Do not trust or use this company. Our belongings were damaged, boxes crushed and appliances broken. We didn’t bother claiming insurance as it was not worth the hassle dealing with them again.

I was skeptical because of the bad reviews but the price of moving our stuff was excellent. People have no idea how much their stuff weigh or take up volume so initially I got a quote for what I thought would be enough for our household but after doing a lot of research and getting another quote from a moving company that has to come to your house to see what they’ll be moving I discovered we need double what I had in mind. Andy, the sales person, was very patient with us and explained the whole process. The driver and the people that came to our house in both location during pick up and delivery were very good. Make sure you go though youtube videos of how to pack your stuff because after the work I did ensuring all boxes are of good quality and furniture is wrapped properly, all this work paid off and I got everything intact!! I was very worried about my treadmill so we’ll see if it still works but I don’t think there will be problem. Overall, I highly recommend and will be using again to get the rest of my things. I did not pay a dollar extra except for a mattress bag because I didn’t have time to wrap the kids mattresses.

The manager (Mr. Sozin) and the movers are very nice and polite. They showed up on time, disassembled large pieces of furniture, did an excellent wrapping/packing and moved everything out carefully. Delivery was on time and smooth. There hasn't been any significant damage to the furniture. Overall, it was a good experience and I would gladly recommend them.

WORST experience I have ever had in customer service. Broke my dresser beyond repair. Lost one of my nightstands and damaged a quality mattress (worth close to 3, 000) beyond use by forcing it into too small a space. You need to purchase full insurance if you’re going to use this company (even if you think there’s no way the item could get damaged, like for instance, a mattress). They show no regard or care for their client’s things. In fact, they won’t even take your calls if you have an issue. I wish I could give them 0 stars. They truly are the worst choice you could make.
