wasim's donair & Pizza

Amazing food.I wish they had more dine in space but I love how quick they are.

Clearly, Wasim doesn’t work here anymore.When I first moved up to this area 14 years ago, I discovered Wasim’s and became a big fan. Wasim was a young entrepreneur, who put a lot of love and passion in to his business and it showed. His pizzas won awards year after year and he was very popular. The pastas were always tasty and portions never skimped upon. I can’t remember when he sold the business, but it was at least six or seven years ago. Initially, the new owners remained faithful to Wasim’s vision, but over the years, the quality slowly slipped downwards. I doubt even the current owners are the ones who bought it from Wasim. Tonight I decided to get the baked spaghetti with meat balls. Let’s start with what was good. The pasta was well prepared. Not soggy and not undercooked. Al dente. There was loads of cheese and it was baked to a lovely golden brown. Very tasty. Now the bad. The very bad. The sauce was watery and tasteless. Chunks of tomato and ground meat were frugally spread around. Not a sauce at all really. When I called to place the order, the gentleman told me the meatballs are made with chicken. I was fine with that, until I bit in to one. As can be seen in the photo, calling it a meat ball is a gross misnomer. It is some sort of battered chicken mystery meat that was soggy and pasty. It was simply terrible. It was the only one I ate and gave the rest to my dog. He loved them. But hey, he also eats cow manure, so what does he know. This is likely the last time I will go to Wasim’s. Very disappointed.

We were passing through and hit this place up. They nailed the donairs! Good portions, fresh ingredients. Best donair Ive had and we will be back everytime we come to cgy.

My beef donair was cold. Even though the meat was okay, the sauce wasn't flavourful. I'm willing to give it another try because the prices are fairly good, but I will ask for it to be toasted and have extra garlic sauce.

falafel was not crispy or fried...but looked like the new style of health conscious vegan stuff. donair is good meat. the sauce is white but sweet. all in all salad was fresh and prices were ok.

Here from BC. Stopped in with some friends for some food. It was excellent! Great pizza and awesome donairs! Thanks for a great experience!

I've been eating donairs all my life, but this place tops them all!!! Not only are they huge but they're full of yummy crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sweet sauce and Donair meat. Plus they crisp them up in their panini press so every time you bite into your donair it's a crunch and yummy gooey sauce. The donair meat has wonderful spices that are just perfect. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and I will return there every single time I'm in Calgary Alberta. I would rate this one 100 out of a hundred.

They need to either change the wrapping paper out or change how they prep their shawarma as multiple times the wrapping paper would be burnt into the wrap and would have to pick off pieces of the wrap in order to avoid eating the paper. As for the Shawarma it was pretty standard. The meat was cooked well, the flavours were there, the price was reasonable, and the juices were dripping out. Now for the samosas...I found them very lack luster vegetarian samosas. Decent size but not decently filled and bland.
