We had our wedding here this past week and I was incredibly impressed with everything. Our package included the Executive Cottage for two nights which was useful as a location for a rehearsal dinner/wedding social the night before and the wedding ceremony and reception were held on the beautiful patio and lawn. The views were amazing, everybody raved about the food (the on-site bbq chef was a plus), the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was very comfortable, clean, and can host 3 couples. The wedding package was quite affordable, dogs are welcome and could stay during the dinner because it's technically a residence. We were also allowed to bring our own wine and serve it ourselves as it was on a residence (this most likely wouldn't be allowed if it had been switched to their ballroom so hope for good weather). No regrets booking here, if you want a destination wedding in BC, check this place out.

Spent 2 nights in the lodge in a king suite and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is undergoing some renovations, but other than the baseboards being off, you would not have known as it was quiet the whole stay. Went to to the heated outdoor hot tub and pool on both days, and they were perfectly heated, quiet, and clean. The staff at this resort are super friendly, and will help with anything you need or questions you have. Ate in the restaurant on both days, and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The poke nachos are a work of art! The cafe has delicious lattes, and an amazing morning view! We are looking at booking our next stay here as we loved it so much. Our only complaint was that the dining room was chilly, although it was snow/raining while we were there.

The people are really nice and the location is fantastic. However, the resort is very expensive and is not well maintained. Overall, we had a really great trip but we probably wouldn’t go back.

Booked 2 nights at Poets cove resort Friday the 07 July and Saturday 08 July. The location is fantastic and the setting is great. We arrived Friday afternoon and was greeted by a pleasant from end lady and checked into our room. These rooms are not cheap and I would expect better service than a low budget hotel. The next day we had a wedding to go to and were away most of the day. When we returned our door was ajar and no one was there. We went into the room and found the cleaning staff had done virtually nothing. There replace a bottle of water and that is about it. The garbage can was full, there was no toilet paper and the beds were not made. This might be ok for a low budget $80 dollar a night hotel but is totally unacceptable for a $400 dollar a night room. I let the front desk no but that is where it ended. Next time I will save $400 dollars and make my own bed. Oh and I will lock my door.

This place is a hidden Gem.All the lodge rooms have amazing views of boats, docks and sunsets. We ate at the Bistro 3 nights.Happy hour is good ,and the servers were great especially Plillipe who remembers your drinks from the previous night. The jerk chicken club is fantastic. The swimming pools were amazingly warm for a 17 c day.I normally spend 100 nights a year in hotels for my profession. This place stands out and we will be back.

We booked a 2 bedroom villa with a kitchen and private hot tub for the Easter long weekend. The room was REALLY grimy and desperately needs a deep cleaning.Black mold in the shower, stains and dirt on the couch, dirty hand prints and remnants of what appears to be BBQ sauce on the walls, sticky floor in the kitchen, rusty, worn out, dirty cookware, and blood stains on the duvet. We brought this to the attention of the front desk the following morning before leaving to explore for the day and were told it would be taken care of.When we returned 8 hours later, nothing had been done. We went to the front desk to again bring this to their attention only to be told there was nothing they could do as all the cleaning staff had left for the day, the linnens were locked up and they didn't have a key.We were pretty upset about the duvet not being replaced and asked them to figure that out while we were at dinner. They managed to get us a clean duvet and gave us free dessert with our dinner to try to smooth things over.We were super disappointed, and ended up washing the kitchen floor ourselves. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I wish we would have read some of the other recent reviews before booking. The state of cleanliness of the room and everything in it was shockingly unacceptable. The only reason for the second star was the excellent food at the restaurant.

Very quiet during our mid-week, April stay. Staff were attentive and welcoming, it's hard to score service when there's no daily room service. Our room was a decent size, too much (large) stuff in it and very few surfaces to put things. They could also rework the bathroom with more hooks for towels, we only exchanged towels because they wouldn't dry -- we resorted to using the door closer on the entry door to hang a towel. The grounds and setting are outstanding. Room 202 and 203 have the largest decks (some of it undercover). Dining options were limited here and the rest of Pender; difficult to get breakfast.

Gorgeous place. I love that it's right on the ocean. The food was very good and facilities were very clean. The service was so-so. Our server wasn't very thoughtful or attentive. He didn't offer or bring us any water and didn't come by to ask how everything was. I mean it's July long weekend and nobody wants to work. That's the vibe I picked up.

We had a family holiday with 5 adults and a baby in the 3 bedroom villa in the beginning of March. Everything was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We cooked all our meals and if we needed anything (like a salad bowl) they provided it to us. The hot tub and pool were so lovely. Clean and warm and quiet. Many great walks to do on the island.

Great staff at the front desk, great service in the resto, very good food. The cafe above the pool is excellent, especially the breakfast burritos. The rooms need some work. Updating as well as a deep clean of the bathroom. Outdated decor is minor, proper cleaning is a major. Shower mildew/mold is part of life in a humid area - but not at 350 a night.
