Spectacular trail especially in the autumn. Explore side roads leading to the Cheticamp river if you looking for places to take in a views, sights and sounds and stay for a while watching the river and soaking the sunshine. You'll find quite a few of them along the trail too, just futher on. For rockhounds, you can find amazing rocks full of sparkle along the river.

Great trail for families as it's close to the Cheticamp campground in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and fairly flat and wide. Peaceful as it follows the river between the valleys.

On the day we went the last bit of the trail was closed due to erosion, we suspected the stream might have swelled during Hurricane Fiona's wrath. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic trek and we enjoyed it!

Gorgeous trail! Well maintained, and easy to hike! A bit long. Also, when we were there the section of trail after the First Pool was closed due to erosion.Would have been interesting to see salmon but we saw lots of cute squirrels and chipmonks and a frog!Bring bugspray :)

Easy gravel trail. Slight inclines. Some good views of the water but mostly walking in the forest. No cell service. Trail markers are available at every km.
