Intact Insurance

Intact is unreliable in my experience. I do not believe they can be reliyed upon to honor all of the coverage they claim to provide.

My mother’s house which I was renting the basement of caught fire back in April sense then we have been moved from place to place they have tried to screw me over a few times now I get no return calls after calling them everything is a fight with them and on top of that they are now expecting my mother to pay me $448.00 for the 1972 Apollo record player that was destroyed in the fire when they did not know the value nor had it listed in the settlement. I’m at my wits end and am considering legal action. Needless to say when I go to buy my own house in a few years time I will under no circumstances be going with Intact. They have pushed my mother around sense day one and I find there treatment of their customers abhorrent.

I can’t believe the lack of service by this company. Put in a claim exactly a month ago due to a fallen tree roof damage from a storm in Winnipeg and to date no one can give a resolution to the claim. Have now spoken to 3 different “adjusters” I beg them to at least give me a courtesy call, but obviously no one knows the meaning of that. Numerous emails to see if anyone can give me an update, again, no follow up .. So beyond frustrated that I need to go through this. Disappointed, does not begin to describe it.

First thing they will do is accuse you for insurance fraud. From there, it will take forever to get some proper response. My case took almost a year. Very unpleasant with how they talk and treat you. Absolutely not recommended.

I am going to say take your money and find another insurance company, I was a customer of more than 17 years and never ever made a claim. When I sold my house, they not only took a payment for something which I no longer own, but tried to take two payments, which almost amounts to a whole year of payment where I now live. I spent countless hours calling them and to now avail has it been resolved. I dont know of any insurance company that takes payments for an insured month after it has passed! I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau to make a complaint, my advise is if you ever have a claim, it would be pure hell getting anything from them! Yes 17 loyal years doesn't mean anything in this day & age! Take your money & run and find a more reputable company, ask friends for referals or research online, I wish I had done this.

Sent me a reimbursement cheque for my tenant insurance after I (purposely) let it lapse. Then put a stop on the cheque because it was sent in error. Didn't tell me anything. My bank charged me for the cheque bouncing, and won't refund because it's Intact's fault. Intact says my account is balanced and sucks to be me for depositing a cheque they sent. Very poor.

Robbed my mother what was rightfully owned to her. Lawyers in steinbach won't take any cases against fraud insurance companies.The crew that came in to demo and remove property stole items that were not damaged.My fathers tools that were in the high thousands were stolen.

My experience with Intact was absolutely terrible. I dealt with Geof sullivan, he does not answer or return ph. calls. He is rude and unprofessional. I called or texted him over 50 times with no response. Wendy Mckracken is Goef's manager I called her repeatedly, same thing no response. It seems to me the Intact corporate policy is to ignore their policy holders. If you use Intact insurance in Winnipeg, be prepared to be disappointed. unfortunately I have to pick 1 star to post this. they deserve no stars. Their where 2 intact employees that where good to deal with Jeanette and Meredith

This company is the worst had a roof leak they only wanted to patch the job. So I redo the whole roofWith proper ice shield and water prof membraneThen last year we we had water coming in again this time it was from the roof vents as per our contractorSo they canceled my house insurance because it wasn’t done properly.Thank you for nothing besides take our money!!!If you want to save money go to another insurance company they promise the world until they need to pay out!!! And they aren’t cheap!!! I’ve got quotes from other places and I’m saving $300.Go elsewhere you’ll thank your self in the long run.

We been with intact 20 plus years... they then canceled our insurance after we made claim in fire.They left us out in the cold.They have been extremely difficult to deal with and seem to stone wall us on every corner. Would not recommend.
