Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

Phoned up to report two close calls while walking with my two boys from school. both times we had the right of way with walk signal , and crosswalk. They didnt want to hear any details and said they would send more patrols in that area. I'll believe it when i see it. second street in front of Fairview school is the worst. Drivers speed through there all day long.

Tried to report a drunk dangerous driver on the non emergency phone number and was talked to extremely rudely by a woman. When people try to do their part for the community I recommend encouraging that and treating them with basic respect. When I’ve called reporting stuff like this to other police stations I’ve always been met with kindness and appreciation. After that call I’m nervous to ever report a drunk driver again out of fear I’ll be met with the same treatment.I understand that police work is a difficult job, and I have great respect for those who do this work with a good heart. If someone called in about something traumatic and was talked to like that, I can only imagine how much more upsetting it would be. Hopefully some retraining can happen or something because this isn't okay.I know there's some good people on the team too, I appreciate the impact they make.

Corruption everywhere. I even had to do a cease and desist to the commander and they still avoid accountability, be responsible or dependable. They cover up their officers and refuse to protect and serve time.adter time after time.

After 20 years of living in the RDN, I can honestly say that every single interaction that I've had with the Nanaimo RCMP has been near perfect in professionalism and civility. No, I'm not a bootlicker, nor do I have any direct relation with anybody it the detachment - it's just that I've lived in places where things aren't so friendly with the local police force and when I see nothing but complaints in the reviews, I figure it's a good thing to point out that there's 2 sides to every story, and mine is one of the more positive ones. Thanks to the Nanaimo RCMP for being a generally cool public service to deal with.

I grew up in an RCMP family, my father having served 37 years and retiring as an inspector..... Today I was assaulted in downtown Nanaimo and a cruiser couldn't be bothered to respond..... I've had absolute respect for the organization for my entire life but how they are handling downtown Nanaimo is absolutely disgraceful. Blatant drug deals absolutely shady people high as all ##@#..... Where is the law enforcement?

Our police force needs to act with more kindness and less prejudice. We recently had to rely on the police to break up a violent fight at my work and the officer that came arrested the wrong person, berated our staff about it afterwards to a point they felt uneasy and unsafe. I am currently looking in to filing a report against this specific officer. Y'all need to learn some respect and kindness or be retrained. You're literally working in a type of public services and I am very angry you made my coworkers upset after they had to watch a guy almost get beat to death.

Wow, unprofessional, received a call from baker, yelling at me, that she's not a babysitter, lol.. I mean YELLING!!!! I had no idea what she was talking about. She said about my room mates lap top, she's coming to pick it up,(nit my fault some man child called her to go get it) when she arrived, 5 hours later.!!!!!.. , on a scale of 1-10, her stress rate, was an 11! On a scale of 1-10, her professionalism, and self control, was a zero ZERO. , she pounded on the door as though someone was in CRISIS, SERIOUS DANGER... I was asleep, and was woken by it, that was very very scary, she's unpredictable, unprofessional came to pick up a lap top,lol, and her behavior was so out of control! Unbelievable!2 days later,coincidence? ...The glass door that massive woman was pounding on , literally just shattered! How? I wonder!No leadership skills., and judging me?! Ok, girl got it! A LAP TOP!! LOL... WOW!!!Anyone , literally, ANYONE, can be a cop ! They don't have some special qualities... because they have a badge, does not equal integrity or trust. That's proven over and over!

A big thank you to officer Mackenzie(not sure of last name), for giving a girl a ride home who did not feel safe walking at night alone and being a friendly reminder that the police are just here to do their jobs to help the community. Thank you Nanaimo police.

I called to report a road rage incident that resulted in threats towards my wife and I, and the dispatcher blamed me for “instigating” the situation because I honked my horn at the other driver. We’re absolutely disgusted with the way we were made to feel guilty and blamed for someone proceeding to follow us and escalate their erratic behaviour to threats of violence. How the only thing the dispatcher could think to do was to blame us because we dare honk the horn at someone is beyond me. It honestly sounds like you’ll make any excuse not to do your jobs at this point. Don’t bother calling, these folks aren’t here to “protect and serve” their community.

When I moved to Nanaimo I was severely abused during my mothers death by a female.The Nanaimo rcmp laughed at me and hung up the phone ( I was attempting to report 4 federal crimes at this time, 5 after the officers refused to file a report)2 years later. Current day. Within the past month they have come to my door 3 times at the request of my landlord. They scream at me through my door until I comply with their requests.They attempt forced entry by trying to follow me inside after I'm done talking to them.My landlord has refused to give me a key to the building for over 2 months for no logical reason. She's just abusive. The RCMP are coming to my door breaking the law harassing me to defend her simply because she's a landlord.I am involved in a named persons lawsuit within the Supreme Court of Canada regarding severe levels of abuse within Vancouver Island.I really suggest you stop sending people to my door because my abusive landlord tells you to. I have it all recorded, so go ahead and delete this and claim I'm lying.You all really need to wake up and realize what you are participating in.
