We can only provide a review of their product, a house built in 2007/08 and our experience co-existing with them as they continue to build near by. Granted this is a spec built house. Their product may have improved, but that is up to others to comment on. Our feedback is based upon experiences living in a similar aged house of similar size in Alberta.The issues with the house:1.) Cold drafts and temperature drop in and around bay window of house during winter2.) living spaces above garage become very cold to the point your feet become very cold if sitting on the floor for longer than 15 minutes.3.) Poor ventilation of the attic space, resulting in a lot of heat radiating form the ceiling4.) only 2 rain water leaders installed on the house, where as a minimum of 4 should have been installed - I believe code requires 1 every 50'. This results in overloading of gutters causing leaks and damage to the fascia board etc.5.) on ground entrance is extremely cold (condensation freezes on the inside of the window) - this is due to no insulation under the slab, or around the perimeter of the house, electrical panel installed with no insulation behind it, and additional thermal bridging from wood members.6.) The floor assembly is very light duty resulting in furniture to wobble as you walk down the hallway, and some of the sheathing to uplift along the edges causing high spots.7.) Electrical panel is only 100 amps....while that meets minimum requirements, that's not good practice.8.) Ceiling is cracking along perimeter joint @ walls9.) Tiling workmanship has many uneven grout lines, and uneven tiles.10.) Mechanical components and workmanship met requirements, but not exactly good quality.I'm hoping their product quality and workmanship has improved.I would also like to see them change their driving habits and slow down when they are driving through residential streets they use during work. driving 40km/hr would take only an extra 10 seconds but go a long way to change the driving habits of others, and show respect to families and young children.I would also encourage them to avoid making noise prior to 7am, its rare, but there are times this will happen for weeks at a time. the idling of machines resonates in the community and causes rumbling inside our house which is hundreds of yards away.

We have worked with and supplied Homex with our closet systems for many years. They keep a tight schedule for all of their sub trades, pay promptly, and keep their homeowners well informed of their options and build a quality home. They have clear expectations for the quality of work required from us, which helps us to recommend them whole heartedly as we know they hold all their trades to that same standard.

My name is Chris Van Buuren. I worked for homex for many years. I am a painting contractor. I see nothing wrong with the homes built that I have worked on.met lots of great people. And getting jobs done was a group effort. In my younger years I learned lots from some of the individuals there . As far as process. I still use them today.as far as buying a homex home .I would have no problem with that. And I have worked with basically every contractor in the kamloops and surrounding area.

Horrible company that puts out a very low quality product. Cuts every corner on quality. I feel sorry for the people that buy their houses or condos because its all just smoke and mirrors, junk, not to mention the owners do not pay their bills. Very dishonest owners.....Highly suggest you look elsewhere if looking for a house. I should know because I helped build them.
