Alt. Rock

This place is awesome! I've been climbing for 25 years and have visited many facilities throughout the journey. With the space they have, Alt Rock utilizes it perfectly. Clean environment, courteous staff, and friendly membership are just a bonus....the boulders are plentiful with many angles and always well set. To top things off there is an outstanding training and conditioning section which most climbing gyms lack. Hope to see you there!!

We had our daughters birthday party at alt rock and were super happy! The staff made sure all the kids were having a good time and engaged. Our daughter had so much fun we have brought her back! Thanks alt rock!

The kids had an absolute blast, The staff was friendly and informative and the place was super clean. Unfortunately for myself, after 20 minutes of climbing, an old injury prevented me from climbing anymore. When I handed in my shoes the owner asked me if we were done and I explained about a previous broken foot that's giving me issues. When the boys and I were getting ready to leave to go grab some lunch. The owner approached me and thanked me for coming in to try out his facilities. He then handed me a free day pass to come back and climb because I didn't get an opportunity to really explore his gym. This is probably the best customer service I've experienced in a long time and it's owners like this that need our support. Thanks for the great experience in the amazing customer service. Will definitely be back!!!

We visited briefly to give our kids some exercise before hitting the road home. Our kids are only a year old but they had a kids corner where we could let them crawl around and attempt some holds.

Alt Rock is a fantastic climbing experience for those trying out the sport and seasoned climbers alike. The problems are consistent in quality for all different grades and have fun, varied styles from old school crimp fest to big modern holds. Quality setting. Kids area and workout gym are a great add on to the whole experience. And, probably the cleanest and most well ventilated gym we’ve been to across North America. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Great place for kids to burn off some energy! Mike was extremely kind and thorough teaching my kids the basics and safety precautions. He really took his time and made sure they felt confident during their first climb.Great price, and convenient that the day pass allows you to come and go.My 6 & 9 year old had a blast!

Great bouldering gym! It's awesome to have a climbing gym in Barrie. There are tons of really cool features!!! The setting is pretty unique. They have all types of angles from upside down to even a slab wall which I haven't seen in to many gyms.

Great gym right off the highway with excellent training facilities and approx. 100 boulders at any given time, plus a spray wall, system board, campus and hangboards, a great weight training area and more. If you're in the Barrie area this is the gym to check out. I always look forward to climbing at Alt.

This is an amazing gym! Friendly staff! Clean. Incredible climbing specific conditioning area in the back.I recently had an adult lesson with Mike. He is knowledgeable and thorough. I walked away knowing my strengths and climbing needs. He also provided drills and exercises to improve my climbing. I cant wait to put the plan into action.
