CBL Data Recovery Technologies

I can't thank CBL Data Recovery and Andrew enough. We were totally devastated when we realized that a terabyte of data was damaged on our external hard drive. For us this really felt like a life and death situation. The receptionist was extremely understanding and patient as she must deal with very stressed clients daily. Andrew was super patient as well and fantastic at answering my questions and explaining what the problem was. He took his time to also tell me what CBL could do to try to resolve the issue. Waiting a week for CBL to work extensively on cloning our data was just torture for us but it was definitely worth the wait. I held my breath the whole time thinking that at the end of it all it would be bad news however they were able to recover 99% of our data and so we were extremely relieved... and estatic! CBL came through when nobody else could. You can't put a price on that! Thanks to CBL, they will always be my chosen specialists!

Twice Bitten!In 2014, I had occasion to walk into the offices of CBL Data Recovery with a failed hard drive and no backup; needless to say, it was embarrassing!After examining the drive, the folks at CBL told me that, sadly, my drive did not appear likely to be recoverable. They worked at it for some days more, only to then report the same. I had lost both work data, which created a logistical nightmare, and personal, sentimental data, which was, well, gut wrenching. Some days after that, thinking that all that was left to do was to pick up the offending drive, I again received a call from CBL. Apparently, they had not given up! They kept at it right up until they were able to retrieve all of the lost data!Fast forward to 2019, and again I walked into the offices of CBL, offending drive in hand, and, you guessed it, no backup. My embarrassment of 2014 had now blossomed into a full blown walk of shame!A few hours later I got a call from CBL that the drive was recoverable. A discussion relating to best practices ensued, during which I was gently, and not without humour, reminded that in as much as referred business would be welcomed, I was actually not meant to provide repeat business! Since I already knew that my data was safe, I was able to chuckle at this.This time around, based on my 2014 experience, I had the confidence that if my drive was at all recoverable, the folks at CBL would get it done. I was spared the process of agonizing over where to turn for help, I knew exactly where I was going. This time, I did not lose sleep over this unfortunate event. Well, not much anyway.If you find yourself needing help with data recovery, and you happened to find your way to CBL, consider yourself lucky. Even if you have already tried elsewhere, and were told that the situation was hopeless, do not give up, and do let the folks at CBL give it a go. They are capable and tenacious (and very nice people too!) and for these reasons, they get truly marvelous results. I am so grateful! Sure, the people at CBL provide a service, but somehow, it feels like more than that – absolutely above and beyond the call of duty!

These are professionals you can rely on with your mission critical data. I had the occasion to talk to their management when I was having difficulty with the American branch with the same name. I discovered that this Canadian location, apparently where it all started, is no longer affiliated with the American companies, and not responsible for their customers in any way. But due to an inherently helpful nature, Tim was willing to take my call, hear about the response problem I was having and, rather than offer idle sympathy, actually reach out to the American organization based on historic knowledge, remediate my problem, and even call me with the, (very rapid), update. They're a port in a storm when data is at risk.

The jury's out. I have been waiting 6 months for a yay or nay on CBL being able to recover my data. I'm a patient businessman obviously, but 6 months?? This was a 1 year old internal Hybrid Seagate drive that I used sparingly but one day it just didn't show up on my desktop. Will wait a couple more weeks, then post a real review.

As per the evaluation provided CBL successfully recovered all of my files from a physically damaged USB. They were very prompt with any questions I had and my files were recovered within the stated time period. The pricing was reasonable and also lower compared to other providers.I experienced difficult customer service from Canada Computers when I initially went to drop off my device, as a result, I dropped the USB at the main location in Markham for the evaluation.I would recommend CBL for any data recovery needs.

My external hard drive stopped working and I ran to CBL to recover my data with a rush service as I needed my files ASAP.I was very thankful that they successfully recovered my data, but damn the price was high: $1600 total to get my files back...

They helped me to recover my data after formating with gparted. The assessment is free and you pay if they can recover you data. In my case I paid 559$ for an easy task without any physical damage. I was satisfied with their service but the price can be lower. Before here, Canada Computers was unable to recover my data but they charged me 50$ assessment fee!

Shortly after having my computer's main drive upgraded to an SSD, upon bringing it home and reconnecting it to my system of 6 external HDDs, I experienced a perfect storm" of misfortune. My main 4TB drive decided to fail shortly after being reconnected; the other 5 HDDs (of varying capacities) continued to work perfectly.But that 4TB drive had about 2TB of exceedingly important data: about $10K worth of corporate data (replacement value of a client's info they had supplied)

My 6 year old laptop finally stopped working and I did not have everything backed up. I reached out to CBL and Tim assisted me throughout the entire process.CBL gave me a quote before proceeding with the recovery. They also offered an external drive to transfer my files to, but I just decided to get one on my own.It was very quick and for the amount of data recovered, I cannot really complain about the $500 I paid. I highly recommend them.- Christian

Can't say enough good things about these folks. Yes, they charge a healthy fee for their service, but it's worth every penny, especially when you absolutely need to get your data back.
