I highly recommend this practice.I was in what felt like a fairly bleek situation, struggling through courts with no hope of resolution for me or my children and emergency court with no time to prepare and not sure what to do. Spencer took the time and not only did he help me through the proceedings, but eased my mind and anxiety for my future proceedings. If anyone is dealing with terrible exs and family court , this practice is for you. Highly reputable and caring lawyer that actually work for their clients.

If I could give zero stars I would.If you want to hire a lawyer who doesn’t communicate or respond to your phone calls or emails then hire MORRISON LLP.My partner hired Spencer at Morrison LLP to draft up a separation agreement and had to fire him and hire a different lawyer. Where to begin with the issues?For starters the lack of communication was appalling. He could never get ahold of Spencer. He never receive an email response back or phone call in a timely manner. Despite multiple requests he just never got a response.What did he receive though? An invoice. Multiple invoices actually. When asking what the invoice was for Spencer’s assistant (apparently he has 2 by the way) responded with “you’ll have to speak to your lawyer.” How do you speak to your lawyer when he won’t respond to your calls or emails?Then, after trying to get a response from Spencer, he was met with an out of office email stating he was on leave. It was never communicated that he’d be away or who to contact in the interim. He was finally informed that one of the partners had passed away, and while that’s very unfortunate, a business still needs to continue operating in a professional manner.At his wits end, my partner decided it was time to cut ties with this firm. He emailed and told them. And again was met with no response.One afternoon, he spoke to Spencer’s assistant (Amanda) to tell her someone would be in to pick up his documents the following day. I went into the office the next morning and was informed Spencer wasn’t in and the receptionist didn't know where Amanda had left the documents.The lack of communication from Spencer, as well as his assistants is unprofessional. As a law firm, they should pride themselves on communication and professionalism. There was nothing professional about this place. And the communication was next to none.And to top it all off, after multiple phone calls and emails requesting on how my partner goes about obtaining his retainer they finally called him (2 weeks later) and asked where he wanted his cheque sent to not after billing him out close to $600 for we have no idea what. Spencer did make sure to communicate that felt my partner should’ve been charged more than the $600 however.Clearly this law firm needs to learn how to communicate better.Stay far, far away!

Spencer and Sara helped my family out during a tough time. They were very knowledgeable and took the time to ensure my family understood everything, especially given the circumstances. I highly recommend both of these lawyers as they showed great empathy, understanding, and professionalism while creating a will, power of attorney, and all the other documents for us after their regular business hours due to a sudden change in health. Spencer was also able to come to the Cross Cancer Institute on short notice; he even got some chuckles and smiles from my family member, which is more than we could have asked for.

Everyone at Morrison LLP really cares about your needs, starting with the receptionists, assistants (Amanda and Morgan), and all the lawyers. So far, we have personally dealt with lawyers Spencer, Nick, Gregor, Erin, and Dylan. We have been dealing with a very stressful legal situation for almost a year, and will be ongoing for a while longer, and none of them have let up steam, their passion for the case, and fire in their bellies for our needs.

Associate Pat Smith stood up for my son and I when the other side kept making obstacles and legal hurdles. Our family can’t thank him and Morrison llp enough for all the hard work above and beyond and for going that extra mile to make things right. We are deeply in debt to him for getting our orders, enforcing our orders and keeping us together despite the legal wedges and abuse of the law by the other side. Some things one can never repay and the look of love in my sons eyes when he sees me now is priceless.

I came in contact with Dylan since 2019 when I was struggling to get the right kind of representation in court for my Family Law matter which has been a long tough battle for the past six years, As I had gone through three family lawyers previously and also self represented as a single father going into litigation against the norms.Dylan heard my scenario and most of the times when you talk with Family law lawyers they would say they can help but rarely would you find anyone who can really keep up to their words like Dylan did in fighting my case to get custody of my child.He is kind of a lawyer who would go in court ready with the argument to over come the odds as he reads through the application and will work with you to get your side of the story to the Judge.Mind that it is not always that what you say is written because he would make sure that you as a client understand the law and how our own actions can go against us in the court.Family Law matters typically are biased towards the mother in case of Child Custody and any wrong action from a father can be catastrophic in court which Dylan makes sure that we as a client are made aware of and are responsible if we still decide to not follow the advice.I have seen Dylan present the case in front of the Judge where he makes sure that no important point is left out and if needed reference from previous applications are presented where ever they may be needed.Dylan is clear and concise when presenting your case which only helps you matter as their is no falsehood presented Infront of the Judge.I have the utmost faith and trust in his decisions and would 100% retain him for my Family Matter if and when the arise.
