I'd give 0 stars if I could. I just went in and asked JD to cut some new carbon express maxima red arrows for me. He seemed pretty uninterested to begin with but went ahead to cut the arrows.Everything I've read about or heard on podcasts or was told by others instructed me that the ends of the arrows need to be perfectly cut straight and flush so the insert sits perfectly and the broadhead screws in properly so the weight is perfectly centered down the arrow.The cuts were visibly not perfect and you could see one side of the cut was higher than the other. I admit I am still learning but figured I would say something and maybe there was an extra step he forgot or something to true up the cuts. He proceeds to tell me that the cut can't be anything but perfect. I simply and very politely asked him about what I had stated about the cut previously in this review. He says well you obviously know more than me so take the arrows to wherever you bought them and get them to do it" I told him I can't because I purchased them online. He says "you buy your gear from somewhere else and bring it in here for me to work on

JD is an absolute wealth of knowledge. He was able to get my firearm back into working condition, after another gun smith had told me to scrap it.Very friendly, and very reasonable pricing.

Excellent service and pricing. I went to JDs for a repair on a used shotgun I picked up. The work was perfect, on time and the price was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly gunsmith. I’ll be going back again when I need repairs or supplies.

Jd is always helpful if you have any questions. He also has a great selection of bows and guns. Worth the drive if you can.

My boyfriend was excited to have someone so close to get his hunting equipment serviced and stock up on supplies. He asked the man working to cut his arrows to the right length and he was unbelievable rude to him. He was upset that my boyfriend bought his gear somewhere else (he had already told him that we JUST moved to the area) and basically kicked him out of the shop. Ridiculous. I wouldn't give him business ever again. We have lots of friends that hunt so he just lost himself quite a bit of business. Don't bother going to JD's.

I've been working with JD for a year now and have had a great experience. JD and his wife have always been very warm and welcoming to me in their store. All good things to say about the level of customer service I've seen when in the store. They learn your name and are always up for a good chat. Great local business!
