Port City Emergency Veterinary Hospital

They were great we brought our very senior dog that out of the blue was trembling and couldn't walk on his own. My wife was so upset and from the tech that admitted us to the Vet they were great and Frank's health was their top priority. No one asked me about money until we were leaving with Frank. It was expensive but not unreasonable for a Saturday afternoon as an emergency.

While I am away on vacation, my sweet, orange baby girl got 4 times too much Benadryl and made her way to Saint John. From intake to discharge the entire process was excellent. Being away, I had many people looking after her and there were no issues or miscommunications whatsoever. The answering of the phone and questions were instant and answered. My cat is not an angel whatsoever and they never said a word. I am an RVT myself and very needy and dramatic due to some of the things I’ve seen but as chaotic as I may have been, I felt fully supported by the entire team. Port city is a huge asset to New Brunswick and I thank them for taking on what not all of us in the field are capable of. I will continue to recommend them not because I have to but because they exceeded my expectations as a pet owner and technician.

I unfortunately had to make the decision to have my 13-year old childhood pug euthanized. It was a heartbreaking experience and our vet was fully booked. The staff and Dr. Duguay were so gentle and empathetic throughout the entire process. Dr. Duguay remembered my dog from our emergency visit last year and that to me, is a vet who truly cares. My dog and I were given a private room to say our final goodbyes, timeless privacy by the staff, and every step of the process was taken at my pace and very well explained. Before the time came, the team had wrapped my dog in a snug blanket and she was the most content I had seen her in a while. My Marley passed away peacefully in my arms, and I appreciated that Dr. Duguay allowed me to hold her during this process. It felt like my dogs death was rushed because it came so sudden and unexpectedly, but Port City Vet made it feel like time had slowed down enough for us to say our goodbyes. I am so thankful for this great team, and Marley is too.

Our first visit to an emergency vet in this province, the staff from the front desk, veterinarian and technicians are all amazing. Our boy gave us a big scare and the staff at this location stayed compassionate, calm and unbiased. We are super grateful to all the staff that do this day in and day out!

I unexpectedly had to have my dog put down on Friday and the staff were very understanding/compassionate, helpful, honest, and sweet. They were not judgmental at all. Not to mention their prices are better than most emergency services and the place seems very sanitary. I 100% recommend this place! The two ladies we got were absolutely amazing!

Port city saved my dog's life yesterday.We were there a week before and because the vet onsite at that time was unsure exactly if what was wrong. We could have either gone the medication route or the surgery route and she didn't seem to care what option we picked either way. We chose to go the medication route first and I so much regret it.We took our dog back yesterday and the other vet said he strongly recommended surgery now. So we did. And he was so amazing. He assured us everything would be ok, he called with blood work results and right before and after her surgery. He even saved us a ton of money. I am so grateful to him for saving my dog, Marley. Thank you.

We unfortunately had to have our dog put down the other day - it was the kindest and most respectful thing for him at that point, and the staff here was just incredible during the whole painful process. Very compassionate, very empathetic, very patient. I'm afraid I didn't catch any names during the whole ordeal, so I'd like to thank everyone who works there as a whole, and my respect goes out to the veterinarians and technicians there who work with families and help deal situations like ours on the daily. We had to take my 8 yr old kitty there last night due to a bite from my dog. The staff was amazing. A big thank you to Dr.Hannah and I didn't get the front desk girls name, but they were both amazing. So helpful and friendly, and recognized we were stressed and made us feel so much better. And a special shout out to the beautiful greeter dog Duke, who was just beautiful and let us pat him and helped take our minds off our poor kitty. What a good boy. Such a wonderful place.

Tonight we lost our best friend, and I cannot thank the team at port city for providing such fantastic care to both my cat and me. They were so compassionate, supportive, and honest. I never felt like they were trying to talk me into anything - they gave me the facts, answered my questions, and supported my decisions. The pricing is better than most emergency vets I've attended.Thanks again. A+ vet clinic.

We had to take our dog there today after he got bit while playing with some other doggoes. They ladies at front desk and the doctor took excellent care of him and had us in and with a couple of hours. I am so happy that we did not have drive almost 2 hours to the emergency vet in Moncton.
