BMO Bank of Montreal

BMO on Rochdale has been giving me excellent service and the covid-19 safety measures is an A+ but i'm giving 3 stars is because I am not happy with the Debit Mastercard. I've tried to register the card with paypal, netflix, playstation and even tried paying online with it on mysgi website and it didn't register or let me use it online. I did some research online and viewed which merchants in canada will accept debit mastercard and all these merchants I've listed accepts debit mastercard or any merchants that has the mastercard logo, so why didn't it work? my former Scotiabank Visa debit card works like a charm with all these merchants with no issues, so clearly the debit mastercard not being an actual mastercard isn't an issue, what is then?. I'm so frustrated, I regret I ever opened an account with BMO. I'm considering closing my account at BMO and take my business back to Scotiabank

So 6 month ago I took my money out of my investment tfsa and transferred to a normal tfsa cause I wasn't comfortable having in investments but the staff wouldn't stop talking about it and kinda pure pressured me putting it in investments and having to repeat my self many times I went to the east branch, just wanting a normal tfsa the first place, 6 months later after doing this i get told I'm getting penalty for transferring one tfsa to another too soon shouldn't you guys have told me this the first place when I did this??? This is unacceptable, I'm a young adult and have many years i have to deal with the bank, I'm not gonna waste my time with revenue canada you guys need to figure it out or I'm taking a fat deposit and going some where else.

I went to make a deposit in the self service machine and it was sooooooooooo bad. It spit out some of the cash and took the rest. I raised my concerns with one of the tellers and was told it would take a week to investigate the incident. Well it's been past the committed response date. I'm missing 40.00+ and if I don't hear from them soon, will be going down the street to the CU!! Not a happy client now

I have been dealing with this bank for many years and would give them top score for customer service and professionalism. Would highly recommend this team.

I went to deposit some Euro's. The cashier didn't recognize Euro's. After a half hour of time wasted, the cashier deducted the money from account when it was supposed to be a deposit.I called back when I realized. Nobody answered. I left a message, nobody returned my call.When I went back the teller who originally helped introduced me to her colleague as she wanted to go to lunch. The new teller laughed and said she had made the same mistake only days before...

Horrible service with the financial advisor I met with, ended up doing more harm than good.Had a better experience with a BMO advisor from another branch who tried to (and succeeded) in saving me as a client.Still dealing with repercussions from the first advisor and the changes he made/did not make to my file.

Set up an appointment with Iris for small business banking. Definitely not the right person to talk to. Has no idea about small business at all. Take your money and and banking business to another bank. The lack of professionalism isn't worth a second of your time and you will leave with more questions than answers.

Dealing with my dad‘s estate.My dad passed away May 2 2022. Went in on May 17 sign all the papers to close his banking and investments. My sister and myself are the executors of the estate. It is now October 11 and my dad‘s a regular cheguings account from when he was alive is still not closed. Deposits have been made in this account now. But we don’t know when or where the money is because we cannot get a hold of the gentleman that was dealing with the estate through email even. Even as simple as sending papers to my sisters bank to sign has still not been done and yet no answer because we can’t get a hold of him. Email trails to prove it.

Nit sure why they have phones or a message service. Can never get ahold of anyone there, nor do they return calls. Why even have a phone line?
