Albert County Museum

Had a good time visiting and learning here today. It was sad that not every aspect of the museum was available due to COVID-19 but what we were able to see was neat. We even learned something new about New Brunswick history. For $10 entry/each it was a neat way to spend an hour or so and learn some New Brunswick history and take some tacky tourist pictures!

Step back in time at your own pace . Great spot for photos any time of year. The old courthouse is lovely and available for small weddings and other events. We pop in at least once per year.

We stopped in here just because it was open and ended up being totally enamored with this little county museum and it's story. Our museum guide Janet was super helpful and very informative.This place is an open air type of museum and does require a bit of walking around. But considering all the little details that have gone into every space of the buildings that is a wonderful way to spend the day.The buildings are all the original ones (save the courthouse which burned down and was rebuilt in 1904) on the original foundations. Generally this is pretty rare as most buildings in museums like this have been relocated so it adds a little bit more shine to this place. There are washrooms available for public use and detailed story telling everywhere! They have some special rooms dedicated to a former Prime Minister from the county and a former prisoner who may or may not have committed a grievous crime (you'll have to decide!)The real star of thise show is the gaol (jail) house in which they kept debtors and Tom Collins. While undergoing a restoration they discovered etchings in the walls, pen marks, and overall graffiti from all the former inmates they held. A very cool experience they have preserved with plexiglass.Definitely stop by and have a look. Oh and this museum was once a stop for The Amazing Race Canada so if you're lucky? They'll let you hold the sign.

It's a village type of museum. There's not a lot walking, and could easily be done in a few hours. I would have loved more interactions between the people inside the different buildings. Another thing, there was one building we couldn't enter because we had to pay extra. It kind of sucks when you pay an entrance fee and then you have to pay more for a building. This has soooooo much potential for more visitors.

Got married here and everything was perfect. The staff are incredible and went way above and beyond to make our day special.

Excellent museum. I have been to many museums throughout the world, including many well known ones but this out does many of them!

Unveiling of Heritage Exhibit for Honorable Abner Reid McClelan Great History lesson of NB 1854 to 1902

One of my favourite museum experiences in Maritime provinces. The lady who works there gave us a great intro and also told us many cool places we could to down on our trip.

Thank you for the wonderful tour!! Such interesting history at the museum. Very cool to see the artifacts from the original town. Thanks Janet and Tyler for the tour and hospitality.

We learned some more about Canada History, we enjoyed it a lot. The intro of the staf was great.
