I called Fernando to do some excavation on our job. We set a price thatvwe agreed on. He said he had the equiptment to do the job. He came with four men you didn't speek English and shovels. He reassured me the job would still get done on our agreed timeline of 1-2 days. The whole time fernando was not on site overseeing the workers. They asked me for food and water and asked if i was paying them directly, i said i am paying fernando the person i made the agreement with. After day 2 and nowere close to finishing fernandos workers had left piles of dirt on the neighbours property damaging the dryer vent . At that time i had requested theybremove the dirt and finish off so i could end our agreement as it was causing issues with both the homeowner and neighbour. On their own they had decide to come back the 3rd day to finish off without my consent or confidence. When i was informed they were there i immediately went to the job to tell them to leave . I paid fernando for the full 2 days of their work and hired someone else to continue which was done with both the correct equipment and on time. His workers at that poijt had mentioned to me that fernando had not paid them only $100 from the $900 i had paid to him. I even offered fernando an additional $200 for the workers time on the 3rd day which he declined and asked for an addition $1000 way above our agreement. He also was trying to charge me $90 for the ise of his shovels and pik axe which i found ridiculous. He caused our project to fall behind so i had to take matters to stop our agreement. To which he went to the owner lying about me not paying him at all which i had to provide the proof through statement that i had . Please make sure if using fernando he is on site overseeing his workers and that everything is on writing. Inwould not recommend him to any of my contacts in the home reno industry.
