Very expensive, no phone number available to call. My garbage was picked up and they took one of my lids, no way to contact them. Virtual assistant is a joke, why can't I just talk to someone.

Waste Management is charging a 15 unit multi-family dwelling $1800 for a bi-weekly pick-up. We are a self managed Strata, and upon review realized 3 other well known, reliable competitors: Maple, GiF, NDS are quoting us $150 or less a month for the exact same service. WM charge is borderline criminal. We have begged to be released early from our 5 month contract, but WM refuses. They have absolutely no ethical approach to a clients best interests, they are selfish. They realize we ar hog-tied and offered a +$300 a month revised contract with a 1 year term. After over 15 years of loyalty, you would assume WM would at least match their competitor, or release us early if our contract. They know we are pinned and are taking advantage of the situation in the most selfish, bottom-line dirty resolution offer. DO NOT GO WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT. If you want more specifics, happy to share.

WM is the worst company to deal with. Customer Service is terrible, phone lines hang up when you call. Contracts are non-negotiable, automatically renews, is difficult to cancel, has severe cancellation penalities, prices rise greatly, and you pay two-ten times more than market rates! Look for local companies that are not owned byWM,com. Even rating them 1 star is too much!

I've been long time WM customer more than 20 yrs. They never been bad like these days. I renewed my contract 1 month ago still didn't get the bins and waste pilling up in my shop. Service people are unprofessional and untrained. It's extremely hard to contact the person in charge. They put the line on hold forever and line just disconnected all of a sudden. And you have to call and spend another 20 minutes to get to the person.I'll wait till my contract expires and go to the other company. Also I know for sure they will increase my service charge more than double in the terms.

Absolutely horrible customer service from the call centre. However big thank you to our driver Don. It's unfortunate I have such negative things to say about WM in general operations however our specific pick-up team is great and honestly the only reason I'm a customer.

I have no garbage pick up at my house for this summer and got billed over $400. I sent registered cancellation letter early July. TODAY, I contacted to customer service line with several transferring TO DIFFERENT AGENTS then I was told to pay for what I didn't have a service over and over. MOREOVER THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T RECEIVE CANCELLATION LETTER. It is my worst experience ever!!

WM started my service 3 months ago. Initially there were issues with pickup days, but once resolved, WM has been outstanding in reliability and predictability - the most important part of the service I pay for.

I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. Trying to give notice to end our service contract required 5 days of calls and dropped calls, cycling between departments and personals, and employees lacking knowledge of what to do. Plus we are being charged over 5x the competitor's price and they want to automatically lock us in for another 3-5 years!

If I could give WM a zero, I would. We have had a contract with WM since 2015. We added a second location for pickups. Over COVID, the monthly cost kept getting higher and higher. Attempts to contact our rep were not successful so I gave the proper notice of cancellation, giving 180 days notice. I received quotes from two BC companies and they were considerably cheaper. The bins at one of our locations where the contract ended on October 31 are still sitting there. I spoke with an account manager, Luis Botello, who asked what they could do to keep my business. Too late!!! Luis then didn't respond to my emails. I tried calling today and spent 35 minutes on the phone with the retention department who said they were passing this on to the cancellation department. Apparently the cancellation department is supposed to get back to me within 24 hours. If you want absolutely LOUSY customer service from a company so large that employees no longer care, go with Waste Management. The sad thing is on their website they say that they are driven by their values: Do the Right Thing. The Right Way." It is unfortunate that they do not walk their talk."
