This is my 2nd year here and the staff are excellent as well as they feed you breakfast and dinner among many other tasks to make you feel safe and at home. (Well until they kick you out in the morning) :-p

Two hots and a çomfortable cot for the night, sadly, too many odd rules make it seem like Nurse Ratchets" runs the place. Where is the encouragement of self reliance? Sigh

To stay there it is thier right to insult to be rube. And that is because they are under the Union standards. They allow people to be there over 2 yrs or more. They do not help people for housing. They rather have them stay homeless in shelter to be helpless in that reguard. So is that helping the workers or helping homeless ? No respect. In human rights !!

Definately serves its purpose although some policies need to be changed as they make it more difficult than easy.

I was impressed, went to see a old friend, in a bit of a spot, and the help, support, and bed he was able to connect with there was a very very understanding and caring resource I'm happy he wound up there, it'll do him a world of good!!!

Im writing in response to a former client who urged future clients to be careful with their belongings. While Ive never worked nor stayed at this particular shelter, they all share similar issues. Almost all shelters have a ongoing problem with theft and not always client based, for there have been exceptions. A good rule of thumb is that if you cant afford to lose it, NEVER bring it in if you can help it. If you do have to bring it in, put your name on it, document via photo and perhaps a witness prior to your stay. If at all possible, ask the shelter for whatever it is you need because they will likely have it. Fortunately, there are very generous donations coming in year round. Lastly, be respectful, clean and kind to both clients and staff alike. Be transparent with staff never with other clients. As someone with many years volunteering in addition to having been a recent client, (both of which shall remain nameless) Ive got a unique insight having seen both sides so Im hoping this might help someone, somehow, sometime.
