BMO Bank of Montreal

Went in to apply for a joint credit card, sat down with a lady and signed everything. We waited over a month to hear back from BMO, I sent that lady emails, barely got any answers. Said she would provide the phone number for me to call on the application, she never did. I ended up calling bmo credit card to find out that application was actually never done. My credit card application was nowhere to be found. I had to redo a full new application. Branch Manager was supposed to give me a call back, they never did.Really disappointed as we always had amazing service with BMO. Nobody from the branch either the associate or the branch manager cared to follow up after this.

I had a problem that could only be rectified by going into a BMO location. This branch had amazing customer service. The teller was understanding and very willing to help. The manager (?), Sonja Howell, helped me resolve the issue, acting on my behalf and going to bat for me. It was so appreciated and saved me hours of my personal time. I was so impressed with the lengths they went especially considering I'm not a BMO customer. I recommend this location for any potential BMO customer! Thank you for making my day!

I have been leaving messages for close to a month trying to get a call back. 4 seperate voicemails in total. today was the day I was contacted back. Of course what I need has to be done in person. Secondly last time I tried to get foreign currency here, I requested small bills. And was given only the largest denomination of that currency. Not even one small bill. Literally only the largest denomination that currency has. When I spoke to the manager I was informed its the third party providers fault and she would follow up with them and contact me back.. it has been 3 months since that interaction... still waiting on the call back from the manager..

Left some very important paperwork with the bank. They said they would handel it for me. Come to find out later that they messed my paperwork for the government up! Came back in and the teller told me the wrong account info again. In i come for my third visit to get the right info. In comes karen the manager. Wouldn't even let me spit out a sentence. Very rude and unprofessional. Tried to force me to stay so that way i could teach her how to do her job. Absolutely ridiculous! And this is to get my penssion money from working for the government.

I went into the branch to activate my new credit card because I had to show ID everything was good even changed my pin and everything and then I go to use the card and it won’t work even though online it says I have a $4,000 credit card limit I call the number on the card they said they never activated my card I have to go back in !!! I work the exact hours they are open and closed at it was hard enough for me to get there today. So then I call the branch and no one even answers the phone. Wow this is a horrible first time customer experience what a joke.

We were at the branch to open account under new comer category as I’m BMO employee and titled under Personal Banking Associate, I knew how the things works.. associate name Supinder Kaur help us to open account and gave lots of misleading information.. when we ask for the paper where all conditions written for cash bonus, she denied and said due to security reasons we can not give out, where I know that BMO create this in pdf format in easy language so that helps customer to understand.. we couldn’t get in to online app and she directed to call online department we we ask why she said I cannot de register and re register.. really?? I have done that thousands times to help customer.. she didn’t even deserve 1 star.. initially she didn’t even knew that she has an appointment.. we called and informed her that we are waiting.. there is lot of stuff she didn’t even done.. very disappointed.. even though I work for BMO I won’t appreciate this kind of service.. this kind of service is eating hard work of other employees..

Leave as many messages as you want! They never call you back. I had to go in to make an appointment and had to drive back the next morning. I did a transfer of funds and they put the money into the wrong account! I called them again. Left a message and again no call back! If I have to go in again I am going to be very angry. Please call me back today! I will call all day if I have to! I am very unimpressed.

In my almost 40 years of using banks I don't think I've ever been in one that is this slow. I was excited to see there was only 1 person line in front of me. They have chairs at the line up. I now see why. I've gone through TD faster with 14 people in front of me. The service was friendly, so they still get two stars.

Awful wait times and seemingly incompetent staff. There were three tellers and what seemed like one manager. For one deposit and one bank draft it took almost 45 minutes…

Sonja the manager was an absolute pleasure to talk to she was very helpful while still supporting the other cashier AND training. Might get busy in the morning but the customer service more than makes up for it!
