Read the great reviews and had to check it out. Did not disappoint! Focaccia was so so good as was our mains. Service was excellent and I’d love to come back again.

Cute little Italian bistro, we got the focaccia which was amazing-served warm with olive oil and balsamic glaze. I also got an espresso martini which was delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had. For entrees I got the mushroom love pasta which was a very generous portion, enough to bring home for another meal. Sauce was delicious. My fiancé got the rabbit pasta which was amazing. Fran herself came to our table to ask how the food was. Waitress was also very friendly. You get what you pay for and given the quality of the food it is definitely worth the price! Thank you Fran!

Small family owned restaurant. Fran was very welcoming and likes to talk with the patrons. There is no set menu, so everything offered is different daily on a chalk board. On my visit, they had two different kinds of foccaccia available, four appetizers and ten main dishes. I had a brocoli, pesto and tomato foccaccia, a mussel on a lobster bisque as appetizer, stuffed portobello as the main dish and an tiramisu dip for dessert. The poor picture doesn't give the dishes justice. All the people that were eating there at the time were all expressing their satisfaction and I also agree with them. This is the best meal I had so far during my stay in the area.

Absolutely worth the drive up from the Blue Mountain area. The food is creative and very much homemade. The menu is on the blackboard. Our favourites this evening were the fig and gorgonzola appetizer and the duck risotto.

This space captured my heart. As someone who is passionate about food, hospitality and authentic experiences Gio and Fran's is on the top of my list. Fran is a total wizard in the kitchen whipping up dishes I haven't had in a long time from my childhood. She greeted myself and my boyfriend personally, her daughter Sophie was serving us and instantly we made new friends. For the first time in a long time I stayed for a while after my meal was done to enjoy the ambiance, beautiful wine and good conversion. There is question that I'll not only be returning, but bringing FRIENDS!

Delicious oxtail stew and polenta sun-dried tomatoes, not the standard Italian fare you might expect. Fran was a great hostess and got to know us a bit while introducing the menu and serving us. The menu changes daily to keep things fresh.

What would be better than an Italian dinner before a show at the Meaford Hall?On our first visit to Frannie's Mercato, yesterday, my wife and I decided to be brave and order the Calimari appetizer. This proved to be an excellent choice! It turned out to be a truly Italian, very lightly crumbed, fried to perfection, delicacy, garnered with a nice little salad. We thoroughly anjoyed that.For our dinner we had chosen Branzino, a baked European Seabass, that was served whole with rapini, mushrooms and lemon . Utterly delicious!With a glass of white housewine for my wife and a very tasty Italian beer for me, all we needed was a cup of espresso or mocca coffee to round off a lovely meal.The ambiance is simple but tastefull and cosy! The service was excellent! We appreciated getting the full attention and advice from a knowledgeable waitress. And to our surprise, before we left, Frannie, the owner, came by to introduce herself and ask us of our experience in her restaurant. We had nothing but praise!Who had known that there is a five-star Italian Restaurant, right here in Meaford, that could easily outclass the best in Toronto?

An absolute gem of a restaurant. Friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and generous portions of fresh food made with obvious love and care. Even my Italian husband was impressed!This was our first visit to Franny’s, but it definitely won’t be our last - we’ll be back!
