We had our pond expanded by Richard several years ago. He also landscaped the surrounding area. We could not be more pleased with the results. OK. I do not review the quality of work because someone referenced them to me. Just will write down the story for you to decide. I called to make an appointment to get a quote. I talked to Richard , the owner. After couple of minutes talking we were close to make an appointment for him to drop by to my place , make a quote for the requested job. He said there is a small fee for consultation. I reminded him that I do not need consultation . There is a job to be done and I need a quote from him. He insisted that he values his time and I have to pay for it. I said it is not fair. He disconnected the call. Does it called GREEDY" ?"

Richard and his team designed and installed a beautiful Koi pond in August 2022. Words are not enough to express my happiness with the work performed. My backyard is small with very tight access for heavy equipment. He measured and planned for every possible challenge to get equipment in and to work in the confined space with safety and no risk of damage to my property/house. He planned everything down to the most tiny detail. He listened to my preference for a natural stone bridge and brought my vision to life. He showed up on time every day and stayed in touch with his schedule of material delivery. Despite working most days in over 30 degree heat in the hot summer sun, he stayed positive as did the rest of his crew. My existing mature fish were handled with great care for their health and well being when being added to their new environment. I was fully prepared before Rich Earth Landscapes, to give up on my dream of my own beautiful Koi pond. I have taken way too long to write this review. My husband and I were so impressed with Richard. We had purchased a home that had a pond built by the previous owners. We were very concerned about several factors: the stability of the pond, the filtration system, and the health of the fish. When speaking to Richard, we were so impressed on his compassion and recognition of what we wanted to achieve. Did he do it? YES! Our pond was initially so poorly designed that we could not even see our 34 fish through most of the summer due to algae (and, yes, we tried every pond balancing chemical). We see them all year round now. it is so clear how happy they are. They are almost comical in their play. I have never had a pond or Koi before, but after this transformation, I am not sure I could not have one again. Thank you Richard for beautifying my backyard beyond belief. Now my only problem is having the neighbours keep peeking over the fence :).

Sorry you should have had an unpleasant experience with this client, Richard. I can only guess that she hasn't used landscape contractors before. I have used you, as well as at least 3 other contractors and they all charge a minimal consulting fee for all the reasons that you outline in your response to her. My wife and I have had the pleasure of using Rich Earth Svs on a number of occasions and he has always provided excellent service and he is extremely customer focussed. Too bad for this client - she has turned down someone who would have given her good value for her money.
