FYidoctors - Nanaimo - Waddington - Doctors of Optometry

Had such a positive interaction with FYIdoctors. I had been struggling to get a form filled out for a Calgary police application and had been to four other optometrists. When I finally called FYI Nanaimo they had me in the next day and sorted out my form right away. By far the nicest and the most knowledgeable optometrist I have ever been too.

Super service, friendly staff! I had a small but worrisome vision issue and they managed to squeeze me in on the same day -- that's just luck of the draw -- but even beyond that stroke of luck everything was super. They whisked me in and out of the initial tests, and then I got to see Dr. Lam. He took some images, checked on my history, and then very clearly and helpfully explained what was going on. He was very knowledgeable and communicative, I felt very listened to" (if that makes sense)

Had a great appt - Ana was excellent in prep testing & helping me pick new frames and Dr. Lam was fantastic in finalizing my prescription changes and going over details of eye health and options. Have been going here for a few years now and am never disappointed - highly recommend!

They were so nice well I was trying to get my contacts out they let me stay 15 minutes after closing to keep trying and were so nice and kind through out the whole thing.

I have been a patient at FYI for many years. Biannually I have my eyes tested and get my glasses prescription updated. The support staff are very thorough in their various tests and assessments. They listen to my comments and ask questions related to any visions concerns that may arise. Dr Lam is my optometrist and I have complete faith in his assessment and recommend him to anyone seeking eye care.

The staff at the Waddington Rd office are professional, and knowledgeable. My glasses were delivered promptly and fit beautifully. I am now wearing my glasses more often to give my eyes a rest from contacts.

I had an eye problem and instead of waiting three plus hours at a walk-in clinic the staff at FYidoctors had me booked in right away. Welcoming place and Dr Lam was great, had the metal in my eye out within minutes. Clean office, friendly staff good experience all round. Booked for an eye exam later on as well.

I've been going to FYI Doctors for many years and while I've seen quite a few different doctors, every single one has been awesome. That being said, Dr. Kim who I saw just recently is the absolute best. She is efficient while being patient and willing to answer all my questions (I have many) and so friendly and fun to talk to. I left our interaction feeling very well taken care of and she recommended eye drops to me that have been an absolute game changer for my dry eyes. Everything she suggested and offered was done with belief and ease but not even a tiny bit sales pitchy, she definitely knows her stuff!I then spent almost an hour with Michelle trying on glasses. I'm looking at a reading glass progressives with blue light filter and she was very patient and also honest about cost and fitment of the frames I was trying. It was a fun hour and even though I didn't proceed with a purchase of glasses, she was professional and happily provided me a quote and printed my prescription for me.A great experience from start to finish, I 100% recommend FYI Doctors for a full eye care experience.
