This is a fascinating, moving little museum. It’s beautifully designed and chock full of history and memorabilia and the stories of ordinary folks. It’s truly worth a long contemplative visit!

Charming, informative museum with interesting and surprising artifacts. You must stop here, pay the small admission fee and enjoy learning some history of the area. Please support the volunteers who work hard to maintain this excellent collection. Allow 45-60 minutes. Don't miss the garden to the right of the building. And they have a restroom in an area with very few.

Enjoyed the collection of local artifacts that are remarkably well maintained and sourced for a community museum. There is a lot of love in this place. Highlights for me was the public access reference/archive in the rear as well as a very cute (if somewhat unrelated) garden. Best $2 (and 60 minutes) I've spent on my trip.

Nice small museum with many artifacts and stories about the way of life of the settlers in the Cape Breton highlands. The displays are very nicely done. It's a tough and isolated landscape, and also a strong community. I wish there were some artifacts and information about the indigenous people who lived the highlands or used seasonal resources there before colonization, but there was no mention of anything pre settlers.

They have a small genealogy research center which is worth checking out if you have ancestors from this area. The museum exhibits, while interesting, were small. There is a gift shop with some nice handmade items and books of local interest. When we visited, we were not allowed to use the toilets because of a lack of water - not their fault. It was after a long dry spell.

Great stop while driving the northern part of the trail. Interact with the staff, they are very friendly and full of great stories. There is also a scavenger hunt for the kids!
