Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

Bunch of crooks setting up a speed trap on the highway. Gave me a ticket when I've never had one in my 17 years of driving was only doing 14 over the limit trying to get passed a semi truck spraying rain water all over my windshield. Trying to meet their quota when everyone is fighting with the covid crisis. Didn't even ask me for my insurance. didnt ask me to sign the ticket. Didn't even have lights on their car to show they were cops. I could of driven passes and there would of been nothing they could about it.Then 2 km down the highway bunch of hitchhiker's disrupting highway traffic.

Well I can’t say I could give a full 5 stars because things are not always great. I realize that you can’t catch every bad guy and I get that. Our town is rampant with crime and drugs. Feels like nothing is being done. People use drugs right on the street and they are not arrested. Our building has had so many breakins and it’s getting worse, not better. If I feel things are changing for the better I will reevaluate this review.

As an individual that was just arrested (and released shortly after being presented with a promise to appear) I was treated with kindness, positivity and respect. The staff was excellent and the officers were some of nicest and professional I have ever dealt with, and I have dealt with some horrible, unprofessional, physically abusive and even racist officers in the past. Even the food was great lol. Although I don't plan on getting arrested again, I'm glad my last police experience I had was a kind and courteous one, even with having been arrested. Keep up the excellent work Chilliwack RCMP detachment.Rick

I just had one of the worst conversations with this dispatch person dated November 15 at 12:49 am.With my son stranded on the highway with mudslides in front and behind him, this dispatcher was cold, uninformed, rude and with no relevant information hung up on me.I explained that I was a mother stricken with fear for my son and he was completely useless and unable to provide a shred of reassurance. Please get these people trained properly, this guy had his certification come out of a crackerjack box!!!

And to think, back in the day when the N.W.M.P. were just a small band of men, put together by Sir John A MacDonald for the sole pupose of moving indiginous Native peoples off of the provincial land areas and onto reserves. Also they were instrumental in helping to stop the American Whiskey Traders in the Area now known as Cypress hills Alberta.This writer has to wonder do any of the RCMP today know their roots and purpose, somehow Today that has all but been forgotten. They are NOT a Transparent Police Force.

The lady working at the front desk deserves a raise. She was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to quickly help my partner and I complete a criminal records check. Thank you!

The RCMP in Chilliwack is providing outstanding service to the community, especially to the vulnerable people that require immediate assistance.To all officers : Keep up the great work as I know that Chilliwack is a tough city to deal with.Thank you.

I usually love the RCMP and know how much most members put into their training in order to be able to keep us safe. I am giving 1 star however, because I had a shop in the downtown area with a man I consider a slumlord. After we paid the rent for the month and gave our final notice of moving out, he changed the locks and gave us a bill for phantom charges in order to steal our equipment. I thought for sure the RCMP would be on our side as this landlord has an infamous reputation of abusing his tenants, which I had seen first hand. We had to hire a Bailiff in order to get our things out of the building because the RCMP said it was a Civil matter that they cannot help with, because I was told that if I would open the door of my own shop I would be charged with breaking in. So we hired a Bailiff, a truck to move the stuff, and set up the times so everyone could see we were not stealing anything but going by the law. The first Officer that came out the day we had the Bailiff and locksmith open the door to get our things said that whatever the Bailiff said about the tenancy act was the law and as long he said we were in the right we would be able to enter our building. The landlord was at the building by this time and became agitated and began slandering me and our business in order to try and intimidate the people around, including the Officer, but the Bailiff and Officer assured me that all was ok and we would be able to get our things out. The original Officer had to leave on a call, so the Bailiff had to call the Police again, in order to remove the owner from the doorway as he was obstructing us saying he was not allowing us to remove what was rightfully ours. The Bailiff explained to us that if we removed him we would be charged with assault. So three Officers came and they all sided with the Landlord over the Bailiff, and wouldn't remove him from the door. Now I have to sue this man for illegally entering our shop and stealing our things. All we wanted was to remove our things peacefully, things which legally are ours. The Police Officers refused to help us and allowed a slumlord to continue to be a slumlord. I was amazed at the officers belief in the landlord over the bailiff, and now the BC Court system will be filled with more meaningless lawsuits because of this. It's sad when a slumlord can steal from people and have the RCMP do the heavy lifting when their is a problem. It's a sad commentary on how honest hardworking people realize that to be honest in this town means you get no where. If we did something illegal to get our things out probably we would have been ok, its very sad.

You guys clearly need someone babysitting you, it's pretty obvious that this detachment is being run by someone highly incapable of managing people. I called to make a complaint and the officer Didn't take it, he started acting like a child..like mimicking, then hung up. Any company would fire such a person... can't believe my taxes are paying for my own discrimination.

I own a store near downtown Chilliwack, I've been shoplifted from countless times, broken into, robbed once (unsuccessfully) and had my vehicle broken into once, and the RCMP has never let me down, they are always there, maybe not on time, but they do the best with what they have, and i have had the pleasure of knowing some of the most honest hard working people there, such as Constable Braid, and Constable Browne to name just a few, and i know that when something happens, they will do their best to have it resolved.and people don't give the police enough credit, and don't realize it's not the RCMP's fault, it's the system that restricts them from doing their jobs, I'm 100% they do everything they can under the law, on top of that as far as my knowledge goes, the Chilliwack RCMP is one of the most overworked police municipalities with almost four times the case load that other cities have, and yet they still have time to deal with me and my issues with care and attention.Thank you for all that you do!
