A MUST GO! I used to go here years ago until about 3.5 years ago when the food started to be dry and not be that great. I recent went here late Feb 2023 and the food was devine!! I was literally shocked at the revamped quality of their food from their fries, drink, burgers, fish dishes and so on. Each and every thing my table of 4 ordered was top notch and reasonably priced with portions that filled you up! Great atmosphere; they keep the place warm with the grand fireplace and service was attentive, friendly and quick. I don't often praise restaurants so highly but this one is now one of my go to's and recommendations for family and friends for the Courtenay/Comox region. Well done to who was in charge of the revamp.

Had a wonderful meal at the timber room. The staff was attentive, efficient and wonderful with my daughter. The food was excellent, my daughter says they make the best poutine she has ever had (and she is a bit of a connoisseur). Can’t wait to come back again!

I had the evening dinner special, which was pork schnitzel, with spatzel, braised cabbage, and grilled veggies. All of the veggies and the spatzel were soaking in grease. I could have squeezed the grease out of the Brussels sprout. The schnitzel had absolutely no flavour, and adding salt and pepper didn't help. I ate the schnitzel as I was starving, but the rest kept swimming in grease. Since I was still hungry, I decided to have the New York Cheese cake for dessert. It had some strawberries and tart raspberries on it, and it was delicious. I would have that for dinner next time. I had 2 Moscow Mules to drink, and they were also excellent. As far as the service went, I would have to say it was way above par. My server and a young fellow working there were beyond excellent. They were very attentive to all customers, without being an annoyance. I wish I knew their names. I will definitely go to the Timber Room again and try something else on their menu. Even if I don't eat, I would go for the service and drinks.

I have visited twice and both times were disappointing. On my first visit, the restaurant was incredibly busy (due to an event at the golf course) so I didn't fault all of the things that went wrong due to the fact that the service staff were totally overwhelmed. The falafel wrap was tasty and the beer selection was decent. However, yesterday I visited at 5:30pm to take advantage of Friday happy hour drinks. My partners beer was flat and the staff exchanged his for a different type that wasn't flat. We were having a good conversation so we ordered another round and the bill. Our first round was during happy hour but we were given larger portions that were not part of the discount. I have been to many establishments and they are happy to offer the happy hour drinks as a default, it's good business. The restaurant wasn't very busy but I still didn't feel very welcome or appreciated as a guest.Anyway, I'm not going back for a third strike at the Timber Room. There are many other places in the area that make me feel welcome.

The place was full, but they found us a seat. Service was excellent and the food was great

Three of us stopped in for lunch. They don’t open until noon, so we had a wait but because the clubhouse is in the Crown Isle resort area, it was convenient. We sat inside because it was too hot outside. Their outside seating area is so pretty with all of the flower pots.I ordered the soup and sandwich of the day which was a carrot, ginger, curry soup and Rueben sandwich for 15.50. The soup was delicious, the sandwich was okay. One person in our party ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings (well done) - delicious! The third person ordered the cup of chowder which was served with a focaccia bread. She said it was really good.I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

We each ordered a new York steak sandwich.I have never seen such a fat and grisly piece of steak in my life. We couldn't cut it with a steak knife let alone chew it! More than two thirds left on our plates! The beef barely soup was very good.We will never eat here again nor will we recommend it!We did show and mention it to the server and she didn't care, just said oh well sorry about that!

One word: awful. I can’t count how many times I have heard that Crown Isle has a new chef, a new manager, etc.And I also can’t count how many times their kitchen has screwed up the simple take-out orders that I have routinely placed.Having had enough I eventually spoke with the general manager, Dave, who told me that he has been with Crown Isle since September & that (& I quote) “Anything previous to that I’ll not really too interested in.” which Dave made painfully obvious throughout the rest of our conversation.Well Dave, there’s an old saying: anyone who ignores the past is doomed to repeat it & I won’t be surprised at all if in 1 yr I hear that Crown Isle has a new cook - and, a new manager.
