It is good when your child is under good educators, my bad luck that my child was under a bad, rude, attitude, educator who did not give enough food to my child. There is no point to paying 60 dollars not having good cares. I pull my child off from the care. They show nice to parents before they admitted. The current coordinators if you complain about anything she takes all negatively. If you requested to do something, they will say we will do it but they just pretend that’s it.

What can I say about AFCCS-George Street? My experience has been positive since my child's first day approximately 1.5 years ago. Unlike the transition to the first daycare, which was very difficult for us, the transition to AFCCS was seamless. They allow, and even expect, parents to spend time with the child at the daycare until the environment becomes familiar to the child. My child has learned so many important skills in the past 1.5 years (putting on winter clothes, how to articulate needs, playing with others, learning to count, etc.). The staff members are knowledgeable, caring, and engaging. They keep you updated on issues with your child and work with you to find solutions or simply reassure you. They also use StoryPark to post stories, which parents and invited family members can see, but parents can also post their own stories, which teachers (and family members) can see.Recently, three of the staff members left AFCCS-George Street for other positions. What is striking is that all accepted positions elsewhere within AFCCS, showing how this organisation supports their employees and offers them training for other opportunities. This, in turn, means happy staff and better care for children.I highly recommend AFCCS-George Street.

This is a long due review and in a nutshell it is a wonderful program. My daughter attended the AFCS program on George Street from 2 to 5 years old. She's been with the toddler, junior pre-school and senior pre-school programs. At all three programs, she had wonderful teachers and had really enjoyed her time there. Teachers are all very caring, experienced, and it is indeed rare that they had a number of male teachers in both pre-school programs. This is even rare in public primary school system. By the time she moved to kindergarten, she got so many compliments from her school teachers that she is very mature and caring, so ready for school etc. I think it is largely thanks to the daycare programs. Before we got a spot at Andrew Fleck, I stayed at home with her and went to different playgroups everyday, I also visited some other daycare agencies in downtown areas, as well as considered home caregivers. I believe going to a group site with Andrew Fleck worked out the best for us. Had I chance to choose again, I would make the same decision. The agency has multiple locations and if you are considering a childcare place, give them a call and visit them like I did 4 years ago, hopefully you will consider my recommendation.

Awesome daycare and best staff ever. My Son ( Yassin ) and we were so lucky to be part of this family until his graduation last August. When he joined the JK now. the teachers and we could feel the difference and how advanced is he because of the learning and care he got at AFCS. Thank you so much. we miss you a lot.

I would recommend AFCS George Street to any parent, without hesitation. My son has been in the Toddler program for 9 months now, since he was just over 1.5 years. He’s really flourishing and he loves daycare. He loves his ECE’s (Doris, Alex, and Tiffany) and comes home with new skills, words and interests every day. He’s learned to wait his turn and ask for his turn when playing and loves playing with his friends (which is what all the kids are called) and learned all sorts of new songs and everyone’s names. He’s learned to eat new foods he never would have tried at home and he really loves his caregivers. Before we enrolled him in daycare, we toured 3 other daycares in the area. We’re glad we chose this one. Here are some great things about it:- The ECE’s are caring and dynamic, full of energy and new ideas.- The food is fresh, seasonal, full of veggies and fruits, and very healthy. It’s cooked by the chef, Kyoko, on-site. Our son has tried rapini and other foods we don’t normally eat at home. Unlike all the other daycares we toured, THEY SERVE BREAKFAST, which helps us get ready in the morning. They also serve lunch and afternoon snack.- There is a separate yard for toddlers and preschoolers (separated by a short fence), and both yards are really nice, full of large trees. Our son loves going down the little hill in the toddler yard on the little tricycle car with his friends.- The indoor play area is awesome too, with a few different “zones,” places for them to climb, rocking chairs, etc.- They do a lot of sensory and “messy play” like painting, blowing bubbles, playing with mud for “international mud day,” etc.- They get outside in all weather, twice a day (unless it’s super cold or thundering). My son gets to spend lots of time playing in the sandbox, splashing in the puddles, and playing in the snow. They also have extra “daycare” clothing and boots they can change your child into if they get wet or dirty, and that you can borrow to take them home in. And, they go on “buggy rides” once a week around the Byward Market and area when it’s warm outside. The only issues we’ve had have been with the noise coming from the construction of the condos across the street (which should be over by Spring 2023) and the turnover of staff when our son first started, which made it harder for him to adjust at first (it was bad timing, with people going on leave, getting sick at the end of Covid, etc). I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a daycare to ask about their staff turnover, because it’s easier for kids to adjust when at least some of the caregivers are constant. However, this hasn’t been a problem for months now since they filled the positions with wonderful ECE’s our son loves.Overall, this is a really caring, stimulating, progressive and fun daycare and our son is flourishing. We would definitely recommend it (and have recommended it) to any family!

This place is fun enough for your kids and safe enough for the parents. On top of that they will do almost anything to keep the parents up to date and informed and of course keep the kids happy healthy and safe. From what I heard since I have been there is that this daycare is one of the best in Ottawa ( most places you hear bad stories afterwards BUT not this place ) Not only am i happy my kid is there but i am proud that he is there too :) But hey, don't take my word for it, do some digging and I'm sure you will be proud to have your kids there too!!
