We absolutely adore this park and its irresistible charm. It's a stroke of luck that we're within a convenient three-hour distance from Algonquin, allowing us to indulge in camping and hiking adventures every weekend. Our children are head over heels for this place, and they wish they could make it their permanent home.

Please check the time before you come. They explain quite nicely how to enjoy algonquin without a car parking permit, as we were unaware to book the same.

Visited in early spring (20 april). Many trails were closed. Only able to venture into some areas of Mizzy Lake. Nonetheless was fun trudging along icy paths and also to be able to say we explored Canada's oldest Provincial park.We drove for 3hours from Toronto and drove back. Planning a night in the area would be probably be a good idea. But again it is off season, so many places are likely closed.

The most scenic and breathtaking place I have ever seen especially in falls. The view from the hill is just fantastic. It has paintings, birds model and history of rail. Its been spread over 7500 sq km which is huge. It has restaurants and washrooms and enough space for vehicle parking. The best time to visit is October

Always great, I remember visiting here as a kid, whenever we were camping in Algonquin and had a rain day we would all go to the visitor center. Great exhibits about the animals and natural environment of the park, as well as the history of logging, villages and early tourism. They usually have a local art exhibit of some sort too. Don't forget to go out and see the beautiful lookout deck outside. Visit the gift shop, books are available on all aspects of the ecology and history of Algonquin park, and all sorts of other gifts.

This is an amazing centre to visit prior to exploring the trails because it informs you about what you are looking at like how a big becomes a forest and the incredible number of plants and animals that can be found here. It covers the many things that helped this park to become a park- logging history, the influential people involved, the railway, trappers, indigenous people as well as all the services needed to maintain this park for example the rangers and fire monitoring to name a few. It also has a gift store, artist section, washrooms, eating area. There is a beautiful lookout deck as well and a short walkway too. It is well laid out.

Just gorgeous. So much to do and the maps are very detailed. Every route has a rating in difficulty, length and time. All the spots are marked and they were helpful at the Centre to help pick out the best walks for the circumstances we had. The beaver pond walk was my favorite.
