Today May 2nd, 2023 we took our child for an eye exam at Martin Street Optometry with Dr. Brooklyn Roca, and we must say, we were thoroughly disappointed by the experience. From the misleading information provided at the front desk to the unexpected costs we ended up paying out of our own pocket, it was a frustrating and costly visit. Front desk lady first convinced us to do a Non OHIP covered eye service (RET - Retinal Photos), which she said is covered by Green Shield. Our consent was conditional, subject to covered by Green Shield Insurance.Once the test is done then she informed us it is not covered and you have to pay the cost of this.Sorry for trusting you for the eye exam. We will not do such mistake again!

Dr. Klaming was professional, knowledgeable, detailed and courteous. It was my first appointment with Dr. Klaming and my eye examination was very thorough. The office is lovely and the staff helpful.

She is awesome with trying to fit in appointments for eye emergencies, and the use of top of the line equipment for early detection/monitoring is impressive and reassuring.The office staff are all genuinely nice, caring people who will help you pick out frames that suit you!

Everything was top notch - Dr. Roca was excellent, great selection of glasses and really appreciated the time and care given for the customer service - I never felt I was being pushed or oversold - it was more on what would work for me and making sure I got what I was looking for. On top of that, I've had lots of compliments on the new glasses - I bought a few pairs and all fit really well and the prescription is clear. Would highly recommend - thanks so much to all the staff!

This was easily the most positive experience I've ever had at an eye appointment. The whole team was welcoming and informative from the moment I walked into the building. The building is extremely clean and the ladies are very organized. Dr. Roca and her team are amazing and I have definitely made the right choice with Martin Street Optometry.

The years gradually roll on and like others, I didn't notice my eyesight fading.  I golfed last summer and the greens many many yards away suddenly appeared ridiculously clear after I borrowed glasses from a friend.  Fast forward to this spring and I can't hold off any longer: get my eyes checked out.I already knew what the diagnosis would be, but Dr. Klaming was so knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant!  My appointments with her were very positive experiences.  I ordered glasses in her office and the whole process went very smoothly; she gave super advice on frames and lenses Her assistant even picked out a pair of frames that I continually get compliments on!I highly recommend Dr. Klaming to anybody who is looking for an optometrist.

I was very happy with my appointment. The staff were very friendly and professional. The examination itself was good and I appreciated how thorough it was. I ended up having a very minor prescription and I appreciated that they didn't try and push for me to get glasses anyway. I would easily recommend this place to anyone looking for a new optometrist in town

I Have been seeing Dr. Klaming since she purchased the business. Six years ago I was diagnosed with a fairly rare brain cancer that negatively impacted my vision and my life. My cancer hospital recommended dealing with extreme double vision by wearing a permanent patch over one eye. Dr. Klaming suggested I consider a prism lens. I agreed and she facilitated the process with a German Lens Manufacturer. The technology worked, I got my life back, thank you Dr. Klaming! Over the next 5 years my vision changed/improved significantly. She suggested that I get lens insurance so I could exchange the lenses every couple of months as my eyes changed. Very wise advice! She took on the challenge of helping me like any good scientist and I thank her for that. Today, my vision is nearly perfect.The office is well equipped with the newest monitoring technology and she is happy to explain what is going on. Her staff is efficient, pleasant and professional.In a time when I periodically question our public medical system, I am very happy to get the superior care that I have experience at Martin Street Optometry.Sincerely,Joe Spiteri
