Bulk Barn

I don't like the customer service at this store. the cashier with shor gray hair l cursed me for not using the containers correctly, and what I did was nothing wrong. It's not the first time I've seen this employee being rude to customers. for me it's just pay and go please no awkward interactions…

I bought almond butter that has mold smell to it but the cashier refused to return it. she was impolite and rude to me. I sent an email and filed a complaint to the store and still waiting for response. Staff are unfriendly. very disappointed .

Just the normal bulk barn experience. Very clean but few staff so there can be a wait to pay. Still it's the place to go for baking ingredients, nuts, sweets and dog treats. You can even make your own peanut or almond butter.

Excellent service and selection. I go for the bring your own containers programme and the prices

Bulk Barn in general is great, meaning the products. The staff however, that is another story. Especially the older lady with the glasses and grey hair. I don't understand how she can still be working there with her attitude!! I am perfectly bilingual and I saw firsthand how she treated customers who did not speak French very well. It was disgusting.The other staff members were not friendly at all. As they were restocking their products, their buggies were blocking the aisle. We could notPass. I will not be returning to that Bulk Barn

Why are prices on the floor indicated in pounds (lbs) but then are converted in kilograms (kg) at the cash? I mean, I know it's to appear cheaper when indicated in lbs, but I feel this purposely confuses the customer as Canada uses the metric system anyway! At least write it on both on the floor!

The older lady with the short grey hair and glasses makes me never want to go back to this store. Every time I go in she gives me an unnecessarily long speech about how something I did was wrong. She's overly confrontational, condescending, and frankly very rude. I got reprimanded for putting a jug of vinegar on a table while I was disinfecting my hands. I've been multiple times, weighed my own containers prior to coming in and used them for bulk goods, gone to the cash and told the cashier how much the container weighed and not once did they tell me what I was doing was wrong. I do it once when this woman's working and I get rudely scalded, she was acting like I insulted her personally and was EMOTIONALY giving me an overly complicated explanation of what I did wrong and all of the rules that the store enforces. I calmly explained every other time I'd been in this wasn't a problem and that just fueled the fire and she explained she could get the manager to back her up. It's simple, be nice to customers even if they aren't aware of your rules. No one wants to be treated like a misbehaving child when they just need to get some bulk pasta. I will avoid going here at all costs if she's working.

Great prices but unlike other shops with more expensive prices, it's not local products. So you can be zero waste but not zero waste+local. It depends what you're after. Definitely do bring a jar and get it weighed at the beginning to be more environmentally friendly!They carry a large selection of food, spices, coffee, snacks, even dog treats! Less so household products. Going through bulk barn made me realize how much more effort I can make in my zero waste journey, without much effort at all. They also have flyers and weekly specials and senior/student discounts on Wednesday so keep an eye out for those!The 2 salespeople I encountered knew their stuff and were very friendly.
