Was looking to get my clubs re gripped, I found DogHouse Golf through a friend and got in touch with Max who said he could help me out. The place looks amazing, really cool simulator set up and quite the shop in the back. Max showed me a bunch of different styles of grips and explained the benefits of all of them. He also told me I could get extensions in my clubs since they are a bit short for me, I didn’t even know you could do that, but Max said he could do it no problem. Max also replaced a shaft in my club that had shattered. He got all my clubs re gripped and everything done super quick to get me back on the course. Couldn’t be happier the way they turned out and the extensions help a lot. I highly recommend this place for all your golf needs. Extremely Frustrating Experience with Doghouse GolfI recently had my irons refinished by Max, and it has been the most frustrating experience of my life. The problems started right after the first refinishing job. Just three days later, the black finish on the irons started chipping all over, despite the fact that I hadn't even used them yet. It was incredibly disappointing.I decided to give Max another chance and had him redo the refinishing. Unfortunately, the results were even worse. Many aspects of the irons looked terrible, with noticeable flaws and imperfections. I could go into great detail about how bad the overall service and experience were, but I'll spare you the lengthy list.Based on my experience, I strongly advise against hiring Max for any refinishing work. It's clear that he lacks the necessary experience and expertise to deliver satisfactory results. Furthermore, considering his young age, it's questionable whether he is ready to run his own business.I regret choosing Max for this job and wish I had gone elsewhere. I hope this review serves as a warning to others who are considering his services. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by looking for a more experienced and reliable professional.Response to owner:I appreciate your response and would like to clarify the sequence of events regarding my experience with the refinishing services on my irons. While I understand that there may have been some miscommunication, it's important to note that I was not initially informed that the refinishing I requested was not recommended. It was only after the service had been performed that Max mentioned he didn't fully realize the scope of the job.Regarding the option of returning the irons to their original condition, Max did mention that it wouldn't be perfect, and there was an additional cost associated with that. Including no refund on what I already paid for something I would not get. This left me feeling limited in terms of alternatives and unsure of the best course of action.I want to emphasize that my intention is not to make things personal or engage in any confrontations. I am simply sharing my experience and expressing my desire for a resolution that aligns with my expectations. Night and day fitting experience compared to some of the bigger companies out there. The simulator is private and beautiful and the staff really take the time to get to know your game and equip you with what you actually need. The owner does all the club building himself and it feels like you’re getting the same kind of craftsmanship you would get on a pga tour bus.
