CIBC Branch

This morning before boarding my flight I attempted to have this branch break several $100.00 American bills into smaller denominations so I would have funds for tips while at the resort. The teller said he couldn’t do it. I informed him that I am an account holder at CIBC and would like service from my bank. He insisted that he could not do it without a transaction generating a reciept. I asked, why should anyone bank with CIBC if they can’t even get a few bills changed and how much I would lose if I exchanged it to Canadian and then back to American and get my smaller bills. He said I would lose about $9.00 per $100.00. I told him to do it, I needed the small bills. That was the only way he was going to do it. After arguing he finally broke one out of the three with no “receipt” like was originally required. Thanks for the service I had to fight for CIBC. Why should I bank with you? Now I’m in another country where they expect tips and I have hundreds still. The one star is not just for this branch, it’s for CIBC if that is there policy. When I return home I will be looking into transferring my accounts, line of credit and credit cards to another bank. CIBC obviously doesn’t care about its customers, time to move somewhere else. They don’t deserve to make anymore money off me, or you.
