Showed up during the recommended arrival time (4-6pm) on Saturday after a day of hiking. Nobody was really there except a man working on the pool. He showed us to our room, but that was basically it, he was not expecting us nor did he know we were staying for 2 nights. I couldn't find a House Rules/Information" sheet/booklet - If there isn't one

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We had the most horrendous experience staying here and I honestly don't want someone to have to go through the same thing. After doing some morning hiking, we showed up at the B&B around 2:45 in the afternoon. There was no one to be found. After waiting around for about 40 minutes totally confused as to what to do we decided to drive around for a little and come back during the suggested check in time (I believe it was 4-6). Again we waited and waited and saw no one. Eventually we just decided to go in and take the room we had already paid 170 dollars for.In the morning, there was no one around again (we had assumed that breakfast would be served in the house) so we decided to stop by the cafe that was mentioned on the sign in front of the house. We told them we had literally seen no one except other guests and we were a little upset with our experience. Their exact words Oh somebody is going to be in trouble!". Who knew it would be us! A few hours later we get the most scathing e-mail from the owner telling us we weren't raised properly and we have no manners.I was so upset I honestly felt sick. It was bad enough we had a horrible experience while staying there and wasted most of the day waiting around for them but to receive such a rude e-mail after was downright shocking. This experience put a huge damper on our trip and even thinking about it now makes me upset. There are many alternative B&Bs and motels in the area so I suggest looking elsewhere."

My three girlfriends and I (and my puppy) had an amazing stay at Highland Breeze B&B. We were travelling the cabot trail on an unusually cold week, we arrived cold and damp after a long day of hiking and travelling and we were thrilled to find a (very clean) hot tub. The bedding was fresh, soft and such nice quality. Anna was very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. She was a generous host and made sure that we were content before leaving for the night, she definitely made us feel welcome and comfortable in her space. She arrived the next day exactly when she said and made us a continental breakfast. Anna was thorough in explaining the ins and outs of the house, hot tub and pool and made sure we had all that we needed. It had all of the blankets, linens, towels, shampoo, etc. that we needed. We felt totally refreshed after our stay, would stay again!

We wanted to do a nice fall trip last year, and everyone told us about Cabot trail. We drove from all the way from Toronto, ON, our drive was very nice, tiring but nice. We got to Anna's B&B around late afternoon. We came here with our dog and stayed in the cabin, there is nice pool and jacuzzi.Even though it was a very quite and nice location to enjoy nature, we just freaked out and felt like on the edge of the earth and all alone in the world. So we cut our trip short to one day only, we did ended up getting charged by Airbnb for second night too even though we didn't stay. May be next time with bunch of friends.Couple of thing to remember: There is no cell service, wi-fi which is not very fast/reliable. Not any upbeat restaurants or stores etc, so consider your food options. For whale watching, must go early fall(mid September). It gets cold at night so pack some warm clothes.

Check-in was completely automized and independant of staffing to be available. Our cottage was ready and available for us right from beginning. Very trustworthy in the sense, only guests were in the building, no staffing. We had a seperate cottage, which was very cousy. The place had a jacuzzi running with nice hot water, and a cold pool to challenge yourself for a freezing dip :) This place/cottage was so cousy. We made our own dinner and breakfast. The kitchen did not have all the amenities that you would expect. We could not even make our own dishes after a meal. They should stock up these necessities for a cottage. We stayed only 1 day. I have already told the staff this, so they will be aware for next residents.

Was not impressed! I received an email the day of our arrival to say that we were the only ones staying in the house and no one would be there but breakfast items were in the fridge. There were open containers of yogurt, rotten bananas, cheap wonder bread and a tub of I can't believe it's butter. GROSS!!Pretty sure not up to Canada Health Food Standards. We had originally booked for two nights but only stayed for one because of just not feeling comfortable there.Anna was very nice to not charge us for the second night.

Struggled whether to share a review because met a nice caretaker and another person, but overall experience was very poor: 1)Not a real B&B - person came in nightly, set the table, put out some cereal boxes and muffins, and you were on your own the next morning. 2)Noone there to meet us or stayed at the property - actually had to tell others looking for accommodation or with a reservation how staying there worked because the owner was in the Arctic - no kidding! Sign was on the door when we walked in, and confirmed that by the caretaker! 3) Our room was the French Suite - was right off kitchen. Dining area was 3 feet from our room. Bathroom privacy was one thin door. Heard every word from teh people staying below us. No place to hang anything in room except four small hooks in bathroom. 4)Common kitchen: out of 5 lights in chandelier, 3 burnt out, coffee maker with leftover grounds and coffee in carafe, dirty microwave, trash can 90% full. 5) SUmmary: I could say more but the bottom line is that we very disappointed that is was more of a on your own" home/hostel that a true B&B. We felt completely disappointed in the experience .. becasue there was none."

TV fell off the wall when adjusting the volume buttons, no cell phone service, the ad states that there is wifi internet but service is very poor and the connection drops off, very isolating with no way to contact anyone, not much pride put into the cottage....have a towel for a curtain in the bathroom, burner missing from stove ...only one burner to cook with and the fridge didn't work properly. Not a very good experience. Terrible place!

Not what we expected , website very misleading; tiny room, double bed not queen, no air cond, and toilet was leaking. She wanted us to pay cash and it was too expensive for what we had, paying for pool and hot tub and couldn’t get in until 4. Final straw was having to pay a credit card charge of 3.9% And not close or overlooking the beach!. Low point of our beautiful trip.Kim and Ed KnightKingston, On
