Ao-ta Beauty Salon

Ann has been my stylist for a couple of years. I’ve never had a bad colour or cut. I have curly hair and I started seeing Ann for a Deva cut. Honestly though, I’ve learned so much from her about how to handle my curly hair too. I’d never heard of “plopping” until Ann did it!Before Ao-Ta, I went to Diva Salon for many years. I get a better cut and colour at Ao-Ta and I save about $30. With six visits per year, that adds up. Unfortunately, the salon is in Southcentre mall so I always manage to spend that $30 somewhere else.

The haircut my daughter recieved was nothing close to what she asked for, even though a picture was given for reference. I was told that she would have to go home, wash it, and style it the way she wanted and it would look better.We went home, washed it, and it still looks terrible. The stylist did not follow the ample directions we provided and the additonal detail the manager came over to elaborate on.When I told the manager that we expected to leave a salon with the style we requested, I was told that they style it the way they prefer and that we would just need to restyle it ourselves.I now have a distraught daughter who won't be able to fix her hair until it regrows a few months from now.I was told we could come back if it needs any adjustments but the failure we experienced today shows that it would be a mistake to trust this salon with the correction.

I had Kylie balyage my hair and she did a phenomenal job. I have a lot of hair and she was very patient and was able to have it exactly how I wanted it. She was very friendly and listened to what I waz describing. The staff at A-ota are beyond friendly and helpful and have an excellent variety of hair products. The salon is very welcoming, highly recommend visiting!!

We were in a panic to have my granddaughters hair put into Dutch braides for her gymnastics competition. All other salons had no openings. Was welcomed by Maria and TT. They were the only salon that offered and actually squeezed us in, even though they were booked up.Parkers hair looks amazing and a huge thank you to you both.!We will be back!

By far my most favorite salon in the south end of the city. Not only do they provide an excellent service, they also carry plenty of men's products and beard products that are locally made and only carried at a handful of places.I always shop at Ao-Ta Salon!

Very surprised with the result of my haircut! I booked a last minute appointment and got booked in that same day with Kylie. She did an olaplex treatment on me that was phenomenal and the results were better than before/after photos I had seen online. I also asked for a one inch trim but she recommended a bit more than that and her suggestion was spot on. The layers were blended perfectly and my hair was still very long but so much healthier at the end. Also, Kylie did the BEST and most thorough thinning out of my thick hair, most stylists do not take out enough of the weight from my hair but she did a fantastic job. Huge thanks to the lovely lady who booked my appointment and greeted me at the salon as well!

I just had the best hair cut and olaplex treatment from Marissa. She used amazing pressure when washing my hair, she made me totally relaxed when i had my hair treatment. My hair cut was done with extreme detail, she cut the split ends and crispy blonde parts out of my hair without curting it extremely short like i have had other stylists done in the past. My blow out with a round brush was dine with care and she curled my hair to style it as well, it was perfect!I will deffinetly be going back and booking with her again.

Was asked to write a review to get 10% off. Owner is good, other staff not so much! It’s the worst.
