West Montrose Covered Bridge (Kissing Bridge)
A very nice place to visit, it looks like one of the bridge in the movie Bridges of Madison county. It is for a quick visit because parking is somewhat hard to find. It's a good change of scenery, the river under it looks calm and the surrounding houses looks like a picture in a postcard .If you are in the village of Woolwich particularly Montrose, don't hesitate to drive for a quick visit, on your way home, you'll see a variety store called Lost Acre, go pop in and try their homemade baked goods, jams and maple syrup, bring cash though.

One of the last remaining covered usable bridges in ontario . Used in several film sets . Great place to go and see .

West Montrose Covered Bridge (Kissing Bridge)
It is a beautiful historic bridge. It is located in a small village with little parking. We walked through the bridge and along the river road trying to get a good view and photo. All the beautiful park like area along the river is private property. It's residential and not at all set up to accommodate tourists hence the 3 stars. I wouldn't suggest this as a day trip destination. If you're visiting St. Jacob's it's worth the short drive and quick visit.

Enjoyed our visit coming home from St.Jacobs. It was really neat to walk the length of the bridge. Not a lot of traffic that day so it made for a good photo and a safe walk!

There is a small area where you can park the car. Hard to find a spot for pictures or to even sit anywhere as the surrounding land by the river creek is bordered off as private property which seems a bit odd. Still a great place to visit. IT movie fans will specially enjoy this location as a scene from the movie was filmed here !

As you may see from the photos, I carefully and craftily snuck up on the actual covered bridge by following a trail. Figured there are enough photos of the bridge, but what about the nearby trails? They deserve photographic love too.The bridge was nice, the history behind and around it was fascinating. The trails were also quite nice. Well marked, and lightly travelled, the latter of which surprised me.

Only remaining covered bridge in Ontario according to the sign. Picturesque scenery surrounding the bridge. Parking available at Leston Park located at 1232 Rivers Edge Dr.There’s a Lost Acre Variety store on the other end of the bridge if you need some refreshments. There used to be a small gift shop in a wood building right by the bridge but it closed last year. Sad it I didn’t make it through the pandemic.It’s not a very pretty bridge but it’s a cool stop if your in the area and like bridges or history.

This is a wonderful historical place. Very beautiful bridge, in good condition, the Grand River is also very beautiful. Good parking. I was very happy to find this bridge.

Very picture friendly place. Quaint with couple of Portapoties in small parking area. Homes are unique and there is a small community store that is well priced. Cash only though. Baked goods some deli and cheese and normal stuff. Nitrate free weiners too. Got a good deal on a special large Combos snack for $2.25! You could get an ice cream sandwich for 75 cents! Lady behind the counter was very nice.
