Syriana Market – Halaal Butcher, Restaurant, and Grocery

I don’t normally do this, but if you haven’t already come by Syriana Restaurant and Grocery then you simply must try it! They have everything you need to make a delicious home cooked meal and more. Their professional butcher is so helpful and his beef, lamb, and chicken is always fresh and of course everything is halal. Don’t feel like cooking tonight? That’s not a problem, there’s always the restaurant! They have great middle eastern food with rather large portion sizes. Come this weekend and ask Maher about his delicious grilled kebab special. That’s one full kilo of kebab, with bread, hummus and grilled veggies all for just 20 dollars!Best food, best prices! Come see for yourself! :)

Sorry, but he grocery area NEEDS a good clean and organized job on the shelves, and the Vegetables area needs to be revamped with good vegetables. The Butcher area is clean and so is the café area.Needs more middle eastern items. It is a big place but needs work.

The Last time to go there. If i can put zero i will .. Each one is giving different price , no price on most of the items and they are very rude once you discuss price with them . no customer service at all . I was there twice since it is sold and their bad luck that there was a line on the cash and i noticed that prices given for the same items are different. When the old owners were there everything was amazing . Very organized and respectful. But with this new management it is extremely horrible. Very bad customer experience.

First and last time!!!! We went to check out the butcher. Prices seemed reasonable. Some products were missing prices, no way to get info.And when we got to the cashier, it felt like we were disturbing their conversation with the other person, and i had to hand them my items 1 by 1.Poor service. Not going back just for halal meat!2 stars because of the products. 0 for customer service.

They simply have everything.. great customer service & endless collection of allI also ordered mix mashaweh ( kafta & chicken) best I've had and I know food .

I visited syriana market to shop for some ramadan groceries. I was highly dissapointed to find out that the meat they sell is far more expensive then your average halal meat store in halifax. Nonetheless, i picked up a box of sukari dates as well as 2 packs of frozen samosa strips. Today, i took out the samosa strips to thaw out in the fridge and when i opened the pack, all the strips were dried out and unable to be folded. They were dry and cracked and i will have to throw them both in the garbage. Upon opening the date box, they were all dried out and stuck hard together. This is the last time i will shop at syriana market. Unbelievable and unaccepatable. I paid 15$ gpe the box of dates and around 20$ for the samosa strips, i also live 1.5 hours away so i cant pop into the store and demand a refund. Buyer beware.

This place was wonderful. Lots of great products in the shop you can’t find elsewhere. We found some new products to try. The staff were wonderful, very helpful, very cheerful. The prices are also very good, especially for spices. Much cheaper than the grocery store.We stayed for a meal in the restaurant and it was delicious. The lamb kofta was absolutly worth having again. We will be back.

Authentic Middle Eastern grocery store in Halifax. It has almost all middle Eastern groceries, variety of South Asian products, has has a large variety of meat section, also a variety of Arabic desserts, there's also a fresh vegetable section, it also has frozen ready to eat products, there's also a restaurant which has a delicious menu and a very big dining space and the owner and his sons are very friendly and welcoming.

The restaurant is one of the worst places I have been to. The quality of food is very bad considering their prices, and they seem to have no idea about running a restaurant. This is already my third bad experience with them, and if I were to explain in detail, it would take a lot of time. Even their food handling practices pose a safety hazard.The first time was during Ramadan when I ordered 3 kilograms of kabab. I waited for almost 1.5 hours, and when I asked about my order, they claimed I never placed it. Frustrated, I ended up going to Domino's Pizza to order pizza for us. It was a waste of time, especially during Ramadan when every minute counts.The second time, I ordered a half chicken meal, and they served me low-quality chicken with a terrible smell. I waited for about 45 minutes, and then they reluctantly replaced it with two pieces of chicken. However, the taste was still unsatisfactory. Considering the long wait time and the poor quality of food and service, it was a disappointing experience. Overall, I spent 1.25 hours there.Today, for the third time, I went for lunch since my office is nearby. They gave me a kufta kabab sandwich that tasted unpleasant, and the price was high. The service was also poor, leaving me thoroughly disappointed.****Do not recommend this Restaurant****
