Great selection and very helpful staff. I am fluent in French but very much an anglophone so I try to read in French to keep up my skills. They have recommended many novels to me, based on my needs, and they never miss!

A large diversity of books, from textbooks to novels. In French, English, Spanish, German. Some arts & crafts, ideal for a present, if you don't know what to offer (puzzles, coloring books, board games). Last but not least, 10% off on books (textbooks excluded) for students if they show their student cards.

I have been to The bookstore a handful of times now. My son is bilingual, as my husband is francophone and I am anglophone. The bookstore is fantastic in that it has a wonderful selection of French books for our child.However, my experiences of them being very unhelpful to the point of being rude if you speak English have been consistent. It is as though anglophones are much less than welcome. When my francophone husband is with me, however, they are more than pleasant and very helpful. It is unfortunate.

Really wonderful how there are places in Ottawa that their sole purpose is to cater to French literature and toys. Now that places like chapters and indigo have pretty much ceased to carry it, I feel supporting these types of bookstores is paramount.Highly recommend this place as it has that old miss tiggly winkles vibe.

One of the only--if not the only--French book store in town. Great selection at fair price, friendly and knowledgable staff. Always a treat to go and browse for new books to read.If you are looking for some good gifts ideas (books, games and even some figurines--Tintin, Astérix, Lucky Luke, etc), this is a good place to go.

This bookstore makes me think of Montmartre (maybe it's the Amelie playlist that was playing in the background). But overall, it was very well-organized, unique selection of French books, Tin-Tin memorabilia and stationery. Friendly staff and great ambience!

I absolutely adore this store. Whether you're new to the language and just learning or you're looking for the latest Descartes textbook, Librairie du Soleil has you covered.I also really love that the staff is so supportive of people even trying to speak French. While they are bilingual, they give individuals trying their best to communicate in French a chance, and help them as best as they can.Overall, this bookstore is very inclusive and the staff are wonderful. I'd visit it again in a heartbeat.

Well organized and excellent variety of French educational and spiritual resources in addition to the usual features of a bookstore. Included in the educational resources were even age appropriate learning games! Very impressed, will be returning! Helpful staff on the phone and in person!

Great bookstore with friendly and helpful staff. Most books are in French, but they do have some books and Graphic Novels or Comics in English. Definitely worth to stop by.
