BMO Bank of Montreal

This is my second review on anything, ever but I am willing to take the time for this one. I requested to move money in the form of a cheque from Nesbitt Burns to this branch. I was told it would be an easy process, the money left Nesbitt Burns and was genuinely lost for two months and this is on the tail end of a process that has taken over a year in total but Ill save your time by excluding those details. The Branch's actual Customer Service phone number has taken +10 total messages from me over two months, never spoke to anyone and never received a call back. My Advisor 'helping me' with this didnt know what was happening, would say she was talking to the Branch Manager and then Id wait 2-3 weeks for any update. I would have to call her again rarely getting her at the time I would call and her explaining that its still lost. The end of the story was, after me hounding them, getting my money, I received $20 dollars / <0.03% in 'interest' as those two months passed with my money lost, in transfer with terrible customer service, since my investment money would have accrued some gains over that time, Id assume, since the RRSP has a hefty management fee included. I have been a BMO customer my entire life and I can say that this was remarkably bad for any type of business let alone a bank I have been with since I was 8 years old.

Absolutely the worst. I opened a chequing account at the end of April this year under the welcome offer promotion.the condition to receive that is to make a deposit, do two bill payments , make pre authorization or do direct depositI completed all by June 30, But now I was told that I didn’t meet the t&c. Because preauthorization was not completed by June 30.If this is something this tricky, shouldn’t the financial advisor advise me at the begin with when I opened account ? Especially the account was opened at the end of April. I specifically asked because I know my first pre-authorization won’t be completed until June and I said that to him too. But He told me that I can do this anytime, No need to worry and so forth. Even with the deposit , I was advised no need to do so but I did it anyways.Now I’m being penalized because I trusted the financial advisor’s word?Stay away from this branch!!

I have never known a bank not to take cash on SaturdayS . This has made it difficult for the people that bank on the weekends at your branch, and it absolutely does not make sense to the general public.

Incompetent staff! Unaware and unknowledgeable of their owns policies and practices. Waisted my time on the phone and in person due to poor communication and lack of training.

Been a loyal BMO Mastercard World Elite customer for years and decided to open a BMO savings account. Doreen at the BMO Oakville Place branch opened an account right away. Now that's customer service!! 30 minutes before I had asked for the same service at the Dundas and Trafalgar branch. Was turned away by the manager and advised that I had to schedule a meeting next week. Terrible customer service.

Terrible service. I ordered some Australian dollars at this branch and was told it would be 5-7 business days for them to arrive. I called in after 7 business days and they had not arrived. The teller was no help. At 10 business days I tried calling them and received the expected Your call is important to us..." Left 2 messages. No call back and I still don't have my Australian dollars."

if i could give zero stars, i would. worst bank i've dealt with.you make things complicated, inconvenient, and difficult for customers. i have received better treatment and smooth transactions from other banks.

I had a very unpleasant experience with the loan department at this bank. 2+ weeks of zero contact from the person whom I was dealing with, emails and voicemails unanswered and when I was contacted, there was apparently an emergency so that individual was away, but no one had said anything to me. No automatic replies. Nothing. Just cluelessness. They then panicked and only sent my form in after 3 weeks because I lost it on the bank. And then when I received my response, it was a 2 minute phone call with no apology, no explanation. Just a lazy response all around. Extremely unhelpful and would not recommend this branch.** I would like to add the branch manager did follow up with me and was sympathetic to my concerns.

I came to this location to get help with activating my business credit card. The person who assisted me didn’t seem to know what she was doing then she say my credit card was good to go. When I went to use the card it was not working. I called customer service and they said my card was not activated. I called this branch several times and left msgs vs driving back to the branch and wasting my gas. No one returned my calls. I had to go to a different branch to help me activate my card. I will never go to this branch again.

I feel compelled to write a review. The tellers at the branch location work so slowly. There is always a line up just because the tellers are working so so slow and its like this almost any visit to the location. Faster tellers or put more tellers, it's always an annoying wait time
