Agra Tandoori House
I was a little weary after reading about all the inconsistent reviews, but really needed a South Asian meal fix and this location was most convenient. We wanted to dine in and the server kindly asked us to have a seat at a table. There were only three tables and a couple of bar seats at the window, but thankfully one table was available. The server was attentive and nice during our entire meal, refilling our water and taking finished dishes away. There was a constant stream of customers and meal delivery drivers picking up orders, definitely a good sign. We ordered the dine in specials, the veggie thali and fish curry with naan, both were delicious. The naan was fresh and spice level perfect, we asked for mild. We left pleasantly full as the portion sizes were good. We ordered the prawn biryani to go and that was on the bland side, but the prawns were a good size. So our dine in experience was excellent, would definitely come again.

We were just in the area and looking for something quick for a bit. The Poke shop next door first got our attention, but we ended up giving this place a try.Food is over our expectation! And good value!! The $15 Tandoori chicken is big enough for two person! Will definitely be back again next time we pass by!

A little while ago, I noticed a new spot called Agra Tandoori open up next to Pokerrito in the Market Crossing area of Burnaby. It’s a tiny shop that, you guessed it, serves up East Indian cuisine. On my first visit, I decided to try a staple that many westerners associate with Indian food… namely Butter Chicken. Instead of coming with rice, I ordered the Butter Chicken with Naan ($12.95) and added the Mango Lassi ($3.75) – which is a yogurt-based drink. I thought the butter chicken here was quite good and they give you a generous serving size for lunch. There’s plenty of sauce so if you like to sop up all that buttery goodness, it might be a good idea to get some rice with it. That being said, the naan was good too and had a soft and fluffy interior with a crisp exterior that made for a pleasant chew. Heat-wise, they let you specify the level of spiciness for your dish and I found that “medium” worked out with the cooling tartness of the lassi helping to ease the heat.On my second visit, I opted for the Lamb Sheesh Kabob with Naan ($13.95) prepared with minced lamb formed into a skewer shape and mixed with onions and served with chutney. It’s a fairly meaty dish and the chutney here is really the key to offset the somewhat dryness of the dish. Now, I’ve always held a soft spot in my heart for a good vindaloo (must have been all those late nights watching Red Dwarf). The Chicken Vinadaloo ($13.95) that I ordered here had plenty of thick and meaty chicken pieces. While the medium spice level isn’t very spicy, the sauce is tasty and goes well with rice. So instead of ordering this with naan, I opted for Pulao Rice ($4.50) instead, which consisted of long grain basmati rice with peas. Overall, I found the chicken to be a little too meaty and dry for my liking. On my last visit, I tried the Bombay Fish Curry ($12.95) which had very tender white fish that absorbed the flavour of the curry. In all, I found that the flavours here were pretty good. They do offer take-out so make sure to pay them a visit and support your local business.

Ordered veg thali for lunch, dine in. Portion was good, got some takeout out of it as well. Good quality. I like that they add sweet as part of the thali. Service was good too.

Poor food and poor customer service experience. I ordered for butter nan and I got a tandoori roti. For tandoori chicken what is in the menu card and what is delivered is entirely different. I got a curry instead of the tandoori. On top, the customer service girl was just arguing and hanged up the call when I tried to talk about this. I give a minus rating for this overall

Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. I was not expecting that from such a small place tucked into a plaza of a Canadian tire parking lot, but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything is made fresh, in house. Highly recommend.

My husband Rajesh and I just got home from eating dinner there and we are so pleased to have found this gem and so close to home! Milly was our server and she was wonderful. My lamb curry was so tender. The Naan fresh and everything spiced hot as we requested. Next time I'm gonna try the Bombay fish!

Won't be ordered from this restaurant anymore. If you're looking at this review, you should think twice about coming here.We placed an order on the website. My wife went to pick it up, the first thing she noticed was that the in-person order total was different than the website's order total. When she brought it up with the clerk, she was dismissed and handed a menu to see the prices. Now to the part where it's quite concerning. My wife was almost home when i received a call from the restaurant. They told me that the order that was given to my wife was incorrect and asked her to come back. My wife brought the food back to the restaurant and they packaged it into someone else's order to go. We didn't do anything to the food, but that is extremely scary if they will openly take returned" food back and re-serve it to others. My wife was offered a free pop for her troubles. Beware this restaurant!"

I highly recommend Agra Tandoori Restaurant for their outstanding takeout service and delicious food. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the dishes were perfectly spiced with generous portions. I especially loved the Paneer Pakora. Overall, an exceptional experience that I’ll be repeating soon!
