Not everyone is a size 4, carry a larger selection of sizes. Having the sales people give you size 8 to squeeze into when you are a 12-14 and saying everything looks good once it’s in your size it not the way to sell things. You carry larger sizes, but i’m sorry they look like they should be for people 60+. I did not feel like the staff was welcoming, they were only there to make a sale. They were not listening to what I was looking for. I visited two other shops and found the staff friendly and not pushy. They actually listened to what I was looking for and showed me what they had or could offer. You can find the dresses offered there at other locations with a nicer staff, you just have to venture outside of Burlington. I will never return to Mirella’s.

As Mother of the Groom I ordered a dress from Mirella, 12 weeks out, that was scheduled to arrive one month before the wedding. It did not! When I was advised by a young student worker (not Mirella herself) that my dress might or might not arrive 10 days before our event I became upset and distressed to learn the dress I was planning for (had the shoes, had the accessories etc.) may not happen. Obviously upset I asked to speak to Mirella. She called the NEXT day. She was very defensive, had no compassion for my situation, said she couldn't do anything about it, never apologized or did not offer any assurance she could help me at all. The worse customer service I have ever experienced. With so many things to do before a wedding I was now left searching for a dress! Well things happen for a reason and I ended up with the most beautiful dress, hands down nicer then the one from Mirellas and I found a dress shop where the owner actually cares about her customers. My mother bought her dress here for my brother's wedding in the summer. When she went to get it altered 3 weeks before the wedding the seamstress asked my mom if she planned on losing any weight because the dress fit snug. When originally ordering weeks earlier they ordered the size up from what she tried on and reassured her that only one size up would be needed. No measurements were taken. To ask someone 3 weeks before the wedding date if she plans on losing weight is not only unprofessional but disheartening as this is a boutique for women run by women whose job is to make their clients feel special and beautiful in a dress they paid hundreds of dollars for. As a seamstress you are not fitting a dress for a potential body but the body the dress was ordered for (which had not changed in the weeks it was ordered to when it was taken it to be altered). After learning about this, I picked up the dress the next day because we had chosen to get it altered at a place that doesn't speak to clients that way and was told Well sorry she took it that way" by the seamstress. What other way could it be taken? No remorse or sympathy for how they made my mom feel. When we got home with the dress (we took it half altered) we realized the dress no longer fit my mom. It was way too snug in the middle and even though it was half altered we didn't see any material that would let it out if we took it elsewhere. We called the store and again voiced our concern and disappointment in how my mother was originally spoken to and was told the dress could be fixed and please bring it back. We did

Excellent service at Mirella's, the ladies are very helpful, attending to every detail. They have a wide selection of evening gowns and bridal wear, including some lovely shoes and accessories. They also do alternations on site. I highly recommend them. Great location on Brant Street in Burlington. Thanks for your help ladies.

My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from Mirella's. The staff were very friendly and eager to help but our good experience stopped there. We made an appointment to try on dresses and I let them know there would be 5 people coming to the appointment. Once we arrived we were informed that we would not be able to use all the available change rooms as they had to keep one open for walk-ins, which I can understand but it made the appointment longer since we could only use 2 change rooms and no walk ins came in off the street. Towards the end of the appointment they did let us use the other change room as they were worried we were going to run over our allotted appointment time.Everyone was able to select their choice of dress, however when everyone was being sized the consultant advised everyone to size up multiple sizes from their regular size when taking their measurements. My MOH wears an 8-10 usually, she tried on a 12 and it fit okay was a bit loose, but she was advised that sample sizes are MUCH different from what you will get when you order and based on her measurements advised her to get a size 16. This was also suggested to 2 other girls in my bridal party who also wear an 8-10. Both of them however put their foot down and ordered the size they normally would in a dress, all the while the consultant was strongly advising the dresses would not fit (they fit perfectly by the way when they came in) My MOH is tall ( 5 foot 11), the consultant also told her that each size you go up adds an inch in length so that's why she needed to order such a large size. Then the seamstress came up from the basement (I'm not sure if she overheard), and said that was entirely untrue and that not only did my MOH need the size 16 but that she also needed to order an extra long dress which would be an extra fee of $40.Then our sales consultant announced that she had good news that everyone would be getting a discount which we were all pleased with. She went in the backroom, then came back and indicated she had made a mistake and that the discount was actually for another group not ours, which was pretty awkward. Then to make matters worse, my bridesmaid asked how payment works for the dresses, she asked if we pay the full amount today or if we pay 50% now then the rest at pick up? The consultant advised it was definitely 50% now and the rest later. When everyone went up to pay they were advised by the person at the front that no the full payment was due now. We told her what the consultant told us and she said she wasn't sure why we were told that as its always pay everything up front.When the dresses were ready someone from the store called me directly (I think it may have been Mirella) instead of calling each of my bridesmaids to let them know their dresses were in and asked me if I could just contact them instead because it would be easier than having to call them all. I obliged and agreed to contact everyone but thought it was strange she didn't offer. My MOH had to take her dress to a seamstress and the seamstress was flabbergasted as to why she was told to order a size 16 and to get it extra long. She had to get it taken in 3 sizes and as well have the length shortened because it was much too long. Had she put her foot down like my other bridesmaids she wouldn't have needed all the extra alterations. I'm not sure why the consultant was so all over the place and gave everyone wildly inaccurate sizing recommendations but I would not go back after my experience there. I'm not sure if our consultant was new or something was off that day but overall we did not have a pleasant experience.

So grateful this little shop! My mother in law was searching for a specific dress for her daughter's wedding and this was the only shop that had the dress in the entire area. We went from Toronto to the Niagara area looking and we found it here, in perfect size for her! The ladies here are really nice and helpful when it came to fitting and alterations. ♡

Mirella and her team helped me and my girls find the perfect dresses for my wedding. I wore a bridesmaid dress and no one could believe it, it was perfect. This is not my first visit to Mirella for a dress and it definitely won't be my last.

Loved the selection here! The dresses were incredibly flattering to my shape, the quality of the dresses were exquisite and the owner and the other ladies working there were very helpful and kind. I’m planning on ordering my dress today :) So excited!
